Great food! Very simple traditional style BBQ. As others have noted, the food was less smokey which is a matter of preference. I found the brisket tender and flavorful. But the fries actually steal the show, seriously the fries were absolutely PERFECT. The salad which smoked chicken was fabulous also. I would definitely visit again.

My goodness! I went for the breakfast tacos and I cannot express enough my satisfaction. The red salsa has got some heat with great flavor. The tacos are generously packed with plenty to eat. You won’t leave disappointed. Highly recommended!
I got two breakfast tacos:
1 egg and Elgin sausage
1 egg bean and bacon
Again with the salsa: so good!

We had an amazing breakfast here at Don’s. The food was great, and the portions are large, so you don’t need to order as much to breakfast tacos were more than enough. My oldest was asking when we were going to come back.

HUGE portions 2 or 3 people could share a sandwich plate with 2 sides. Good down home feel — not fancy at all! You could totally walk in in a bathing suite and not be out of place.

This is a great local, family owned, BBQ spot! I mistakenly ordered my food to a location across town and the staff promptly called their family who ran the other restaurant. They were willing to honor my order without charging me for it all over again (which would have been completely fair for them to do). The staff is friendly and incredibly generous. Will be returning often!

Great service. Went for lunch. Had sliced brisket plate and my friend had sliced brisket sandwich. We both got the potato salad and I got a side of pinto beans. Everything was hot and fresh. The brisket was very tender and the sauce was also nice.

So it's not a fancy place, you go to the counter and order your food but then OMG it's so so delicious! Everything is homemade! We had mac and cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes, brisket, and the 1/2 dark meat chicken and pulled pork and everything was amazing! The serving sizes are well worth the money. We took a lot of leftovers home. I most surely recommend Donn's BBQ!

I accidentally ordered a catering order to their other location, and they were so nice and helped me out. Got my full order remade and got me out the door quickly. So thankful! Plus the food was delicious!!

This hidden gem behind Goodwill is so delicious!!! They sell the most delicious and affordable tacos and breakfast. I get some like every other weekend because it’s one of my favorite places💕

Stopped here for quick breakfast tacos. Ordered bbq sausage and eggs. Tacos were huge and tasted great. We'll be back.

Purdy darn good BBQ. Amazing authentic mexican breakfast plates, tacos made to order by very friendly folks. Cold beer as well.

This the place where I always go to get the brisket for a family dinner or an outing. Their potato salad is very good, and the peach cobbler is so delicious. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years

After trying out Donn's Texas BBQ, I must say it exceeded my expectations. The barbecue they serve is simply phenomenal. The meats are incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. The enticing aroma and incredible taste left a lasting impression. The friendly and attentive staff provided a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Donn's Texas BBQ is a must-try if you're a barbecue lover or simply looking for a memorable meal. Their mouthwatering barbecue dishes are sure to satisfy your cravings.

It's not just another BBQ-joint - it's an institution. It's the only breakfast taco my picky kids ever ask for. The brisket is succulent and the service is on par.

Was convenient and portions were ample. Larger meat portions than many other BBQ’s. The baked potato, was easily a pounder and when smothered with the pulled pork it was enough for two meals. I’m glad I chose not to eat at the location as the tables, condiments area, and floors needed more than a bit of attention and deep cleaning.

Not imperative. I've had better. It's ok, but not worth the price you pay for it. Good for a quick lunch, but don't set your hopes to high.

Typical BBQ place. Meats were mediocre with high dependence on sauce to give flavor. Cole slaw is good. Green beans came out of a can. Squash is good. Liquid lemon juice instead of fresh lemons! Give me a break. I will pass this place next time.

Love it!. Better than County Line, Rudy's or Salt Lick. 'Nuff said.

BBQ Boo Boo. I should've known better than to go Q again, especially after Salt Lick. I was just setting myself up for disappointment. It's like going to a performance at Carnegie Hall, then listening to that same gig on 8 track. Perhaps I am being a little harsh w/my 2 stars, due to the fact I'm using Salt Lick as a measuring stick, maybe 3 stars would be more appropriate, but the holy trinity of ribs (pork), chicken, and brisket, served up was not up to snuff. The brisket, in fact, may have passed for a moist jerky. Oh snap! Sorry Donn's, I should've had a 14 day statute of limitations around eating Salt Lick nirvana and any other BBQ. For what it's worth, the Spud Salad and Slaw were good, and the ambiance is true BBQ shack, down to (up to) the metal roof. Mary Jane's Last Dance did recommend the original location near Bee Cave, perhaps next time.

Love this place! Brisket is always moist and delicious, great staff!

Great neighbourhood BBQ. I love the lean brisket, and have to say their potato salad is outstanding. Consistently good quality and close to home.

Worth the stop in the Y. This is a short hop from the casa. I have driven by it 100's of times but only recently have I actually been there for some Q. I will also admit that I am not a big Q eater... being raised in England... I ate curry not Q. The concept is kinda of simple here...I walked in, inhaled, and just started pointing to slabs of meat by the lb. Everything I had was tasty and I actually liked the sauce. I guess that is the big point of Q, sauce, smoke rings and blah blah blah... As a complete novice of this type of dining, these things all tasted great to me. I liked the Jalapeno Sausage, chicken was tender and smoked, ribs and brisket all seemed fine... since I am beginning on this caveman like journey of gnawing on big ribs and chicken carcass, I plan on hitting them up again soon.

Donn's has great pork ribs, jalapeño sausage, and moist briskets (smoked well). I love their potato salad and baked beans.

My only complaint is that you have to pay extra for additional bbq sauce. So Donn, if you are reading this...that's bunk dude.

I title this.."It is..what it is". because Donn's is a simple place that serves good food. It doesn't try to cheesy over decorate like some other places.

Crap..w. a side of HCF white bread. Wow...talk about overpriced and sub par quality BBQ. Even rudy's puts this place to shame. I think the firewood in the front is a trick, b/c I tasted no smoke flavor and no smoke rings...Ill stick to Vics :)

This was our first trip to Donn's BBQ at the Y in Oak Hill, on the edge of Austin. I liked it a little more than the ten others who made the short trip. The service was great, and the food was better than I expected. As far as the places we've been in Aus
