Cherry Creek Catfish, where the blackened catfish, butterfly battered shrimp, and gumbo are the rock stars of the menu—seriously, they could headline a culinary concert. Our family taste-tested our way through, and most dishes nailed it, but then there's the mac and cheese thinking it's auditioning for a microwavable talent show, the fried okra doing its best impression of a leftover superstar, and the barbecue ribs with a dryness level that rivals my sense of humor. On the brighter side, the atmosphere is cozier than a blanket fort, and the service is so on point they probably know my food preferences better than I do. Oh, those sides, though—they're like the awkward dancers at a party desperately in need of rhythm. Cherry Creek Catfish, you're the quirky friend who brings the laughs and the food—it's a package deal!

It's always a good night when Cherry Creek happens. This was the first catfish restaurant we would come to when I was a kid in Austin. The recipes have been solid since. Simple country fried options with some Cajun dishes that hit home every time...I don't eat fried food often, but when I do it's Cherry Creek.

I ordered coffee and it was cold. I ordered a baked potato and butter wouldn't even melt. My husband and I have been going here for about 10-12 yrs. Good and service has always been good. Maybe just an off day. We will continue to dine here because it's just the first time this happens. Also I think our waiter was new because we haven't seen him here before.

I had the fried catfish and shrimp combo with the squash and mac and cheese. FANTASTIC! Yummy, perfectly crispy, generous portions, what's not to like? Not only that, my family did a BIG to go order for a gathering and they did it right with nothing missing, even right down to our sauce requests. Highly recommend!

First of all, I simply felt at home, like the old Austin in this place. This restaurant has a very Texas home cooking kinda vibe to it. It felt familiar to me. It reminds me of restaurants when I was a kid growing up in Austin. A gem that didn’t change with all the gentrification in town. The food and sweet tea only made the experience even better. Servings were big, make sure to come on an empty stomach. The staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. I personally recommend the fried mushrooms appetizer and the chocolate lovers pie desert (not in the photos because I ate them so quickly 😅). I will be back!
