In town for business and decided to try Asti Trattoria for dinner on a week day. I made the reservation for 7 PM. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The place seemed to have a musky smell. It seemed the air was not working to its full capacity. Next to the funky smell, everything else was very good. Our waiter was very attentive to all our needs and requests. Now the best part...the food. On point all around. Calamari was fried perfectly. The linguine with clam was prepared el dente. I had the seafood risotto. Risotto , clams, and the squid were cooked very well, but the shrimp was slightly overcooked. Overall, it was a very good Italian meal.

Fantastic, romantic dinner with freshly made pasta. I appreciate the 'smaller' menu because it means the chef can focus on the quality of the offered dishes.
We can taste the difference.
Great wine selection as well.

A hidden gem!!! The only real Carbonara and Amatriciana in Austin… maybe in all of Texas!! all ingredients are the real deal. The pasta, made here. Real Guanciale!!!! Not bacon! I am telling you. It’s the real deal like in Rome! The service is excellent!! Super personal experience… the place is super cool, like an old diner. The chef… super cool guy. I don’t get excited about restaurants in Austin… I am about this place.

We’ve been eating here for years! Honestly when the original owner sold the restaurant I wondered if things might change. Gladly, everything is just as wonderful! Jennifer was our server recently, and her professionalism, wit and charm added so much to our evening. The atmosphere is always so welcoming, but great service and ambiance can only go so far if the meal is average. Alas, our meal was outstanding. We started with the mussels, then we both ordered seafood entrees. Everything was stellar! Jennifer offered two samples of white wine to pair with our meal, which was a lovely gesture, as well as the complimentary biscotti after our meal. We had no room for dessert. Asti is an Austin institution. I’ve lived here since 1981. Cheers to many, many more years of success! 🙏🏽

I can't say enough good things about this place. To start the wait staff is very inviting and polite. The food was amazing. My 2 year old is a picky eater, and he loved all the food. Even the area is super inviting. I definitely put my stamp of approval.

Friendly and prompt service. Food is priced on the higher end but it is worth it. The carbonara was perfect. I haven’t had been looking for good carbonara and was happy I found a place. The house made noodles was perfect. Overall great atmosphere and great food. The focaccia was airy and fresh. Everything we had was really good.

This is an Italian-style restaurant, where you can enjoy a short but very substantial and delicious menu. I recommend it, however the smell of the room was not to my liking, which made the stay in the place a little uncomfortable. We had a great time and the service was excellent.

ASTI is one of Austin's amazing restaurants. The service and food are all great. We were seated at the outside patio with a heater. Very cozy and romantic 💞 This is our go to weekend date night spot!

Can't believe I waited so long to try and reluctant to post about this hidden gem! I was able to reserve a table seamlessly at the last minute, and the dining experience from start to finish was exceptional. Except for the novel Old Italia music permeating the patio. I reccommend the seasonal offerings, but the standard menu provides many stalwart options for meat and veg alike. We really enjoyed the perfectly balance and textured greenbean sala, and the pasta and beet ravioli were perfection.

We came here for dinner and had an excellent experience. Cally the hostess greeted us and was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The food was very tasty- I had the carbonara and my fiance had the lamb. Our waiter Justin suggested excellent wine pairings. We ended the night with the affogato dessert, suggested by our waiter and we were not disappointed!

Asti Trattoria, I've been here before and it's a solid neighborhood spot. They've been here for a minute and it's worth a try. Tonight was a special night which I'll talk about a little bit more later after we talk about the food. 1st our servers name was Mitch, he was fantastic. He was all over the place, had many tables but he'd kept good tabs on us, and took care of us make. He made great recommendations, we really enjoyed his company. We started with the fired artichokes and they are very lightly fried and were good, the lemon aoli it came with was amazing. Our salad was decent, but the entrees overall were a hit and a miss. My Love and I ordered the special, which was this giant meatball served over polenta and red sauce, pomodoro. The meatball honestly was not good, I'm a little bit of a meatball fanatic and I love good meatballs and this one honestly was chewy and not well executed but the polenta was fantastic. J had the lasagna and it was good, not great and B ordered the lamb Ragu, she loved how much lamb was on the pasta both were good no complaints. This was a special night, as it was the 1st time I got to meet my love's mom, B. It was fun we got to talk and tell funny stories it was really great to part of this moment. Thank you my love, for inviting me into your world. You are my sun and I your moon!🖤🖤🖤

Old Austin ambience joined by old Austin service. It’s not common to receive the attention and thoughtfulness from an entire staff these days in the Austin restaurant scene like we did here. It’s Italian comfort food at its finest, the effort they put in shines through.

We’ve gone here a few times and really like this place. Delicious Italian food and a lovely outdoor patio area for when the weather is nice. Great gluten free options - the focaccia was amazing and the server did a great job of proactively letting us know about allergens and offering alternatives.

I'm not sure how I've not eaten here until now. Everything is amazing. And the waitress we had (Jennifer) was super attentive. She also listened to our preferences and gave good recommendations. This place has a happy hour Mon-Thur from 4-6pm. Happy hr menu has wine and good starters like calamari, mussels to white bean dip (and more) for $6 each. I really liked both the bean dip and mussels. For entrees we got the truffle oil pizza with grounded saugage as well as the butternut squash risotto. Apparently they make their breads and dough in house. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back again.

We had 7 in our party and all enjoyed the visit. We had gluten free pizza, regular pizza, chicken Parmesan , and other dishes. Good portion sizes. Tasty dishes.
Good service and food was quickly served.
We sat outdoors in comfortable weather.
The place was clean and staff friendly. The chef stopped by and talked to us for a while w a big Texas welcome to our new Austin residents. We plan to return to ASTI.

We arrived right at 5, when they open. Gosh, it was so delicious. I’ll remember that meal for awhile. I took my dad here for Fathers Day, and he turns 79 on Tuesday.
* Dad and I ordered a glass of Sangria, with lemon, basil and cucumber. Nice pallet cleanser.
* We also had the stuffed mushrooms - the truffle tastes great. They’re nice and creamy with a bread crumb crunch.
* We each had a Caesar salad with anchovies - gobbled THAT down.
* A wild complementary plate appeared from the kitchen with cubes of watermelon, drizzled in balsamic vinegar, topped with a mint leaf and sprinkled in rock salt. Yummy.
* Then we both ordered the seafood risotto, which came with a fun-to-tear fresh spongey bread. The poor little baby octopus were tender and delicious.
* For dessert, we ordered some kinda chocolate mousse thing in a chocolate shell. This is dad’s favorite dish and it’s the reason why he wanted to eat at Asti. It’s a smooth and lovely dark chocolate. It was late in the day, so we didn’t order it, but espresso goes perfectly with this dish.
The staff were great. We got a table promptly. Everyone was nice and polite. Our waters were refilled promptly. I believe it was either a chef or manager who stopped by our table near the end of the meal and asked how everything tasted. Top notch service, you guys. Rock out.
My dad is 79 now, and his health is failing. I really appreciate Asti for helping my dad and I share in great food and happy memories together.
Bonus - There’s a Pokestop there and many others nearby. You can likely hit at least two from your table.

Everything about this place is top-notch. Their classic dishes (carbonara, capellini, rigatoni, linguine) are some of the best pasta I've had in Austin (well, almost anywhere). Their strength lies in their simplicity and their quality. The calamari is INSANE. It's the best I've ever eaten. I could eat an entire bowl of it myself. The caesar salad is spectacular. It's zesty, tangy, rich. There is not one thing I would change here. It's a favorite lunch spot of ours. And Justin is a fantastic waiter! Maybe we'll see you there one Friday afternoon??? Judging by all the regulars this place has (including me), it MUST be doing something right!!!

Excellent menu made with quality ingredients. Professional and friendly staff, and an excellent wine list make this Italian eatery my favorite in Austin. If you are a wine drinker then Lauren will sort you out. There's selections on their wine list for every budget, including an excellent 2008 Brunello Di Montalcino. One thing I still have yet to try there is desert. That chocolate cannoli is calling my name!
So if you love Italian food as much as I do then go to ASTI!

Was more than satisfied this evening.
My brother (Justin), is a dedicated server for this joint. Service, food, environment....all up to par. Legit.
Was pleased to be introduced to the owner (Emmett) who was such a cool guy.
My party of 5 all enjoyed their drinks, entrees and desserts.
Can't wait to come back!
Cheers!

Wow! We had the most delicious dinner this past Sat night. Our waitress without a doubt was the BEST ever! I am sorry that I don't remember her name. But, for the owners; we were party of four, reservations for 7:45pm under Korn. Our waitress was 10 out of 10 attentive, new her food well, made great recommendations. Thanks we will be back!

The trout was amazing and paired well with the wine. We shared a delicious tiramisu for dessert. Service was impeccable in a romantic environment quiet enough to get to know date.
