he ambiance is brilliant strong nods to the continence store it once was from retro neon sign to the commercial refrigerators full of beer for take away. . The food brilliant several vegan choices . My flexitarian mates assure the CMT dims on par with ant east-end curry hut and yes this is a high co
One of my favorite bars in Austin. Really good Indian style food, a great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere both inside and out. I've noticed that there has been some turn over in staff, but they always seem to hire good folks. Wait staff is friendly and will let you try before you buy. Fin
This Indian restaurant has one of the coolest vibes in Austin. The food is North Indian centric. Don’t go there if you want to experience a really authentic south Indian food. Prefer entrees and appetizers over biryanis. I couldn’t say less about their bar with a wide variety of locally crafted and
The best tiki masala! The ambiance is really nice, like a dive type of bar, lots of drink selections. You order food at the front and seat yourself.
We ordered the Whipin platter. It came with with an underwhelming amount of meat that was mostly dry. We also ordered the hummus which was very good. The credit card machine wasn't working which we weren't informed of until after we ordered. I tried to order a side of Tikka Masala as it says you can
2020 update: So much has changed and not in a bad way. Outside area is the same but the inside is completely redone. The actual bar is the same but everything else is different. Still a great spot to get a good drink. Kitchen still good as well. *Original post: The Whip In is original Austin, befor
The Chef, Yogesh, is a star. His food never disappoints. The food is AMAZING. And Grace is super nice. This is a hidden gem. Come eat, drink, and enjoy a warm and welcoming vibe.
Had dinner here. Ordered several plates. Everything was so delicious. Top notch. A definite must eat. I'm looking forward to eating there again. All the food was fantastic.
The place was not busy. We sat at the bar and the service was great. They have a great selection of beer. The food was really good. Can't wait to go back.
This Indian food in last few years has been consistently most excellent!! Both vegan and non vegan choices that are big portions, and use fresh ingredients, it is so good it taste & feels like homemade flavorful food that is made with love and don’t forget the naan comes out hot soft fluffy as if it
Whip In - Coolest Indian bar / restaurant I have come across in Austin. Super chill vibe, live music playing and decent outdoor patio space. Try out their Chana Masala, Paneer Tikka, Samosa, Daal Tadka and Garlic naan. They got wide array of draft beers. Foggy Eyes is the best. They got some free pa
It's definitely a hidden gem if you like real and simply delicious Indian food. The beer/wine selection is extensive. Definitely recommend if you're craving Indian cuisine.
Enjoyed huge amount of tap beer selection. Foods are also awesome although they are not authentic. Love this atmosphere and will definitely come back.
Went to this place for the first time during Austin trip. Went with an impression of typical Indian dining place but was surprised with the ambience and atmosphere. Live band was performing when we went for dinner. It has nice mix of indowestern atmosphere. Food was tasty with decent number of optio
Delicious authentic Indian food. Generous portions. I had lamb vindaloo, bhindi masala, aloo gobi, dal and lamb kebobs. Wonderfully spiced and flavorful. Whip In has gone through a lot of changes in recent years. I think they've hit a home run with this new menu.
Have been visiting this place for last 10 years. The new setup is good, beer choices were amazing and the Indian food they serve feels real home made.
