This place is great. The service was very fast and on point. The atmosphere was very fresh with an Austin feel to it. The outdoor seating was gorgeous.
The happy hour drinks were cheap and delicious. I had the Mexican martini which was well worth the hype.
The food selection was very thorough. All of the basic Mexican dishes, plus so much more.
I had the chipotle wings. The wings were huge and delicious.
Really enjoyed lunch here. Super old building, reminded me of an old camp mess hall. Chips and salsa were on point, the queso did not disappoint and the main courses were delicious. Our server was really good and kept the refills coming. I would definitely go back.
I LOVE coming here for brunch. The food is always amazing (FRENCH TOAST!!!) the service beats all other locations as well. I’ll always come back.
What I learned on my first visit to Trudy’s. Avoid the queso/guac. It’s good, but you’ll gorge yourself on chips and dips. Stick to the main course because you’ll upset when you don’t finish your entree. I got the chicken fajita queso enchiladas, and that was a waste of time. The rice was bland, and the charro beans managed to be blander. Why did I give Trudy’s 4 stars for such a description? I nibbled off some of my buddy’s meal. He got the All American Breakfast with two eggs, ham, red potatoes, and pancakes. Perfect entree that I regret not ordering especially for the price! Maybe next time. Y’all have a good day!!
Trudy’s is the best, their menu has variety of options that each of them will surprise you. Haven’t been there for while but maybe more than 2 years but their quality is as same as it was. Can’t wait to go back there again.
We drove in from Waco and needed to get to a show by 8:00, so I called ahead and we were able to get added to their list so we wouldn’t have to wait when we got there. Very good considering it was a Saturday night! The service was good. I’m new to these reviews and regret that I forgot to take more pictures of our food, lol. But it was all good. Pictured are the stuffed and fried jalapeños. So tasty! Love the breading on the outside. They were big, too. They offer two types of salsa - a green and a red. Both delicious with just the right amount of heat! My enchiladas, rice, and beans were great. Love this location, super close to the UT campus and right there in the Hyde Park area. There are tons of great choices in Austin, but this is an old favorite so I love to visit when I can.
A visit to Austin required Mexican Martinis, or out shall be deemed incomplete. At a limit of two per person, they are no joke. A perfect concoction of sour and strong, it is on the way coming from the south and makes it a wonderful beginning to a day of exploring the city.
The outdoor patio is good even in the cold as the heat lamps are a burnin'. Sports channels always on and a friendly environment I just can't get enough of. I never eat here so I can't judge it based on that, but it's almost ten years I've been coming to get my Mexican Martini fix and I crave it when it's been too long!
The food was delicious. A must have when eating here stuffed and fried avocado best I have ever had ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Ate here for a late lunch filled our belly’s up no need for dinner
We had a great first experience at Trudy's last night. They had some really tasty food like the enchiladas Texana and the manager Charlie was all about the customer experience.
Ordered the carne con carne enchiladas and got chicken with pineapple. It got too busy to send back so I ate it anyway. Wasn’t good.
