This is one of the best hidden gems Austin has to offer!!! If you haven’t tried their brunch and unlimited mimosas yet you need to get there! Also they have fresh seafood delivered daily so you don’t have to go to the coast to get it! All around amazing!
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. Carlos was our waiter and was amazing. He was very accommodating to my 3 year old son and even brought out his food 1st so he wouldn't have to wait. I definitely recommend this place.
Loved everything about this hidden gem. Patio, Happy Hour(s) drinks and food, regular menu food, steak, dessert...did I mention we loved EVERYTHING?
Had no clue this place was right around the corner from us the bruschetta was delicious and the saxophone player was on point!

Celebrated my birthday dinner there last night, from the cornbread, to the shrimp and lobster bisque, the steak and mango salmon were all on point and delicious. The white chocolate bread pudding and the creme brulee were awesome, and so was the service. We make sure to go back when I'm in Austin.
The Roasted Chilean Sea Bass is expensive, but excellent. The best seafood and overall menu in town. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Best seafood we have had in a very long time. I tried the Mexican Martini (delicious) and they actually left the shaker on the table! It filled my martini glass twice ($10 value). Best lobster bisque anywhere and cornbread was soft and warm, we ate it like dessert! Our server, Tyler, was exceptional and we are sure we will be back soon!
Wow! The food is savory and casual. I loved everything. This is one of those places where everything on the menu is a winner.
I enjoyed the oysters, shrimp diablo, Bourbon Street pasta and the white chocolate bread pudding.
The Manager, Rick, was very attentive and the ambiance is great for date night.

Lovely restaurant serving good food and drinks. Wanted a sidecar to drink, but it wasn't on the drink menu. The bartender made it for us anyway, it came out great!
The menu is eclectic Cajun and Creole, with some Texas comfort mixed in- delicious choices. Oysters are amazingly fresh. Bar is cozy but roomy with friendly patrons. But most of all- piano player churning out great music. Will be back. Loved it.
I loved the rainbow trout! The service was excellent & everything tasted perfect! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Freda's and we were absolutely thrilled with the fare and the service. Our server Ruth pampered us and her knowledge of the menu and wines was supreme!!!

Possibly the best dine in restaurant in Austin. The atmosphere was well lit and intimate. The food was phenomenal. They start you off with sweet cornbread. It was great, especially with the butter they provide. I tried the Trout Alexander. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out in a timely manner. My server Rob was amazing. I will definitely be back.
We have used the private enclosed room for several family parties. Food and service are always good. They can allow for dietary needs such as gluten-free options. We bring our own cakes and are sufficiently sequestered from the rest of the clientel that we are comfortably uninhibited. Salmon was well prepared and not fishy. Try the cucumber martini. The art can be interesting.
Wow! Fredas Seafood Bar and Grill truly blew me away with their wine and food pairing experience! 🍷The flavors were impeccable, and the ambiance was delightful. We visited Freda’s for the first time today for lunch and the lunch menu is fantastic! We tried the crab cake, salmon Florentine and the fish tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious and very fresh. I can’t wait to go back. It’s truly a hidden gem.

We loved our experience at Freda's! We went for a very early dinner (so we could bring our newborn) to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the start, they wished him a happy birthday, were so friendly asking about our baby girl, and did an excellent job telling us about the menu. Freda herself even came by the table to say hello - our waitress told us Freda comes in every single day.
Our food was also incredible. We had the shrimp Diablo appetizer with their housemade cornbread, and I ordered the sea scallops while my husband ordered the NY strip and shrimp. We are already talking about when to go back!
My wife and I ate here for our Anniversary. We made reservations. The service we had from Rob was wonderful. The food was amazing. It was truly a wonderful evening!
We held our company Christmas party at Freda’s this year. The environment was excellent for socializing. The meal was delish and the service rocked! Our waitstaff was excellent and on top of everything from the moment we arrived (early). We had one small glitch and management addressed and offered an immediate resolution. A wonderful evening! The food is absolutely amazing. Every single thing we ordered fish cake, crab stuff mushrooms, crab stuffed salmon, paella all fantastic. It is a must visit.

I went to Freda’s for my birthday this year for the first time and thought that it would be a wonderful spot to celebrate my parents surprise 70th birthday and needless to say it was! They provided a wonderful buffet and served our 50 guest party like a breeze! I can’t say enough about this place. Thank you Freda’s for always giving us a great experience!
We've driven by a 100 times and we've read about this place for many years. We'll, tonight we tried it out. I decided to eat fish and should have gone with the prime rib. It all looked amazing and was yummy. It was a bit costly for our budget. The owner did say hello to everyone, but missed our table. She must have seen the frown on my face when I got the bill. If we go back, I'll try the steak. The shrimp was excellent. Atmosphere is romantic.
A nice restaurant to take a date or a friend for some delicious seafood. The menu has several options to satisfy your pallet. Freda's is clean and organized. The hostess and servers were professional and friendly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating as well as around the bar. It even has seating for small groups. There is plenty of parking too. If you like seafood, then book a reservation and try Freda's. I enjoyed my experience, and I believe you will, too!
Great spot for Sunday brunch and date night dinner. Service is wonderful and attentive without being intrusive on date nights. Food is always great, we love the trout, risotto, sea bass, steak, just everything had always been seasoned well and cooked perfectly.
Brunch is always lively and fun. Never had a bad experience at Freda’s and would recommend to anyone to give this local restaurant a try. So glad y’all are staying open and moving not too far away from where you are now. Having such a upscale place to dine that isn’t so far into Austin is awesome.
Freda's just happened to be within walking distance of our hotel and we noted it was listed as one of Austin's 10 best seafood places, so thought we'd give it a shot. The staff was super-friendly and inviting, service very efficient and courteous, and the food excellent. Definitely not the cheapest around, but our portions actually were just about right and the special cornbread they bring out prior to meals arriving is outstanding. We had the Pecan Crusted Tilapia with pesto crème with crawfish. The taste combination was outstanding and the fish cooked perfectly--not mushy at all. Great first impression, and we'd like to go back the next time we're in town.
Really nice place with fantastic service and good food. We had 31 people and everyone enjoyed themselves. Carlos was a great host making sure we all got our food cooked properly and beverages refreshed.
We had to wait for extra 10 min on top of our booking time, maybe it was New Year Eve and they are short of staff. However, the front desk and our waiter were very nice. Food was amazing. It is hard to choose but our favorites were the prime rib, filet mignon, and homemade cheesecake. Everything else were also great too, they are serious about their food. We are bring our family back for sure!
