Their burger is, hands down, the best burger I've ever had. Simple, without wild flavors or crazy toppings. 80/20 ground beef that's pan seared and broiled with just salt and pepper. Previously, my favorite burger was the green chile cheeseburger at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill, so I had a Clarks burger the day before going to have the burger in Vegas. Clark's wins for sure.

Superb .... in addition to absolutely delicious food, Clark's passed all my very scrutinizing tests from a decent draft beer selection served in proper glasses with coasters to proper espresso and the real test, correct cafe macchiato all in correct cups with correct spoons - we sat on patio where we enjoyed heat and a blanket if desired - again, delicious seafood - big variety of fresh oysters and beautiful presentation. and table linens! Fine dining with a casual elegance...and excellent service .... everything done right....you may want to make a reservation if you want to be sure to get a table - a new favorite place for us
Clark’s is a trendy restaurant and I believe there are several locations. I liked the scene and atmosphere. I had a cocktail and ordered clam chowder and a crab cake. Both were excellent. I was in Austin for business and ate at Clark’s by myself. I can see how much fun it would be to go with a group and share some starters, have drinks, and make an evening of it. Will go there when I’m back in Austin. It is pricey but an indulgence.
This place is great! We sat at the bar and we’re waiting on by Kathleen and a taller brunette male. They were awesome and recommended some delicious oysters! Best lobster roll I’ve ever had at this place and their burger was out of this world as well. Drinks were 10/10!
What a great place to clap off your night after a long day at the convention center. The environment was live, great, positive energy, great place to net work with other colleagues, the bartender was awesome, our waiter was on point, but who takes the trophy was the hostess as she was sitting people, cleaning the tables, taking orders, all around just being helpful. She was so awesome! Hats of to you!
Update: pro tip sit at the inside bar facing the kitchen. I went back for a late lunch and had the most spectacular view, food, and time.
The ambiance hits way more inside (even if outside is where to “be seen”.)
Javier was leading the kitchen while I ate and even spoke directly with me to address a food allergy question. I got to watch the seamless transition to the Chef, when he arrived and caught this cool cooking sequence where you can see the full prep of the grilled octopus! This is dinner and a show.
Excellent service.
Cute atmosphere. Very noisy location outside.
I loved my waitress - she is what made me feel that I was getting an upscale experience (other than the price).
I had the lobster roll (hold the bread).
It was very tasty. Also - the lobster was cooked perfectly! There was a decent amount of lobster (which is not guaranteed) and it felt like they really picked out the meat fresh (vs bought prepicked lobster meat frozen).
The slaw was… there? I feel like the slaw was a missed opportunity.
Great people at the outside bar went a long way to making the experience an amazing one.
Parking is terrible. But. This is Austin - so it is more news when there is good parking, I guess. Lol.
Their brunch menu is excellent. French fries are skinny and crunchy, super good. Everything I’ve eaten here makes my mouth water. Also make a great dirty Roquefort martini.
I have to say I also really enjoy the atmosphere. It’s cute and feels like a bistro. Make sure to get a reservations well in advance.
Clark’s is an iconic part of Austin cuisine. This visit wasn’t my first and it won’t be my last. The oysters were high quality, my date’s burger was great (I could not stop stealing the mountain of fries), the service was top notch and the cocktails and mocktails were delicious. I look forward to the next visit to this intimate restaurant in this beautiful and historic part of sixth street.
Always crowded according to my wife, and non-existent parking unless you nail one of like 6 spots or so up front, but I wanted to try Clarks so here we are. We hit HappyHour and the martinis were priced well, as was the burger, but 50 cents off oysters was kind of funny. The oysters were fabulous, and we ordered the Rosemary fries that were both unique and enjoyable. I love the vibe and atmosphere here--bright and festive with lots of light inside and seating outside--though in the 100+ weather, no thanks to the small front patio. Service kind of lost us seated up against the window in the bar area, but it was a nice nook to eat at despite slow service. I really want to give 5 stars--food and vibe deserve it--but the slow service and parking issues for my 1 visit has me at 4. I'll up it to 5 my next visit if service was a fluke--there are certainly more items on the menu to try that I already have my eye on.
We live Clark's Oyster Bar in Austin! The ceviche we had was absolutely awesome, along with the fresh cold water oysters! Can't wait until our next visit to this lovely city so we can come back!
Great ambiance, great outdoor seating options and fantastic cocktails with zero-proof options that I personally love. Seafood on point, so was the service! 🫶🏽
