The food was good. Went for the fried chicken and it was a close second to Gus’s. Was blown away by the Mac and cheese which could’ve been a meal in itself but we ordered it as one of our apps. The fried deviled eggs were also tasty, could’ve used more of those.

Really great find: we loved that we could make a reservation through OpenTable, so we did mot have to wait at all when we arrived, the waiter was very entertaining but knowledgeable at the same time (he amazingly described every dish we were interested in, for us). The food came fast and we loved the cheese platter appetizer. Now my pot pie looked fantastic but it tasted a little like something I would do at home. I mean it was good, but I guess I expected something a little more sophisticated from a restaurant...The dessert was delicious, I just think it could have been amazing if they would serve the brownies warm with the ice cream in between. The drinks were great - good wine collection. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and yes, would go back to try other dishes!

My SO selected this spot for our private birthday dinner this year. His choice was terrific! This place is definitely a date spot and not intended for kids. An extensive wine list, along with a few craft cocktails are provided with the menu. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. We got to experience the Austin Restaurant Week menu and made separate selections from the multi course meal. The truffle mac and cheese was absolutely divine! The deviled eggs were so unique, I could have ordered more if we didn’t have more feed coming. The fried chicken was very good and the greens were tasty. The SO had the pork chop which was also very good. Dessert was included, so I ordered the ice cream sandwich, while my man got the bread pudding. Check out this location when needing a special place to enjoy with a romantic meal while downtown.

I’ve had a fair amount of ‘great’ burgers. This has overcome the reigning champion as the best burger I’ve ever had, number two being Gordon Ramsey’s BURGR in Vegas. So highly recommend the signature burger with bacon and a fried egg. Get some garlic aioli to dip the fries in. So freaking good...

Great place for a holiday party. Their fried chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts, and mac-n-cheese are all well crafted versions of the down-home favorites. Easily within walking distance to CapMetro train station.

Had fried chicken for lunch on Sunday. It was awesome! Fantastic flavor, moist chicken. Service was great, the chef personally checked up on us. I'll be back!!!

Damn good. Best fried oysters (the crispy prosciutto is a very balanced complement, not overwhelming at all) and best fried chicken in america.

This was so much fun. I was here because of a company event. The food was great. The event was in the basement and it felt kind of like a speakeasy. The food was great, and there was a great assortment of drinks. I plan to frequent Max's in the future. Parking I think the best option for parking is the valet parking. $10(10/24) in front.

One of my favorite Austin stops, featuring gluten free fried chicken! always wonderful. Service was top notch for lunch, but can be busy for dinner.
