Knowledgeable and friendly staff plus an amazingly inclusive menu makes for an awesome tea experience. I’m gluten-free and recently caffeine free. Unfortunately this means I can’t have my favorite puerh tea for a few years (caffeine ages out) but I found an excellent alternative.
Amazing food served by happy and gracious staff. Buda bowl is terrific and tea selection is outstanding. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Austin.
The Steeping Room was delightful. I went for dinner and there was a peaceful vibe coupled with the warm scent of tea and coffee. I got the granola bowl which they easily made vegan. The whole menu is very adaptable and there is a great selection of soups, sandwiches and salads. A heads up the tomato soup is really good. Ask for a sample and you can try a bit of it. I also got the chai latte which was amazing. Along with the latte I got the Jasmine Pearl tea which was smooth but bitter. Great steeping.
Lots of good snack options for vegans and vegetarians. I took my friend here who lovesssss tea and she loved it! I wish there was more seating inside/more of a vibe. Very nice employees though!
Love this place! HUGE tea selection, authentic tea from many different areas. Great for friends get together or some afternoon tea time. You have to try their scones! Recommend their Spiced Apricot, Cranberry Walnut and Candied Ginger. For the spread, recommend their honey butter and organic strawberry jam. Many Vegetarian and Vegan options. Friendly and helpful staff too.
They also have another location in Domain. But that location has been permanently closed.
TLDR: perfect spot for a relaxed brunch
First off, phenomenal tea list, which is a massive draw to this place. the staff is really friendly and welcoming, and the vibe of the whole restaurant is really great. even when it was a busy morning brunch, it still felt relaxed and peaceful. The food itself was good, but not great, but literally everything else about the place makes up for it. 4/5
Hot damn. Great, great spot on the north central side. It smells divine with all the tea 🍵 fumes. Great menu. Full of options. Breakfast before 11, so I suggest coming in before that.

This is such an amazing place! The staff were super friendly and created a really great atmosphere. Every step of the service was amazing! The food and drinks were delicious. I will absolutely be coming here again!
What a wonderful experience! I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and we received welcoming, and friendly service paired with delicious food. The recommendations for tea we received from our server, Brandy, were educating and ultimately, satisfying choices. We had a great assortment of options with the century oaks tea service. So many different textures and flavors. Highly recommended if you love tea or just want a cozy spot to get a snack.
All the employees were very kind and answered our questions patiently and kindly. I got the seasonal peach iced tea and drank 4 cups of it with unlimited refills. I would totally recommend that! I also got a cup of the tomato soup and side of wheat toast. It was excellent but definitely go in with the mindset that it's pricey due to the quality of the ingredients.
The Steeping Room is a great option when you're looking for delicious, healthy options. The napa rolls, salads, and Buddha bowl are all fantastic. I also love the tea sandwiches! The tea menu is seemingly never ending, and the desserts are so good. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love it all!!
They have a very well curated selection of loose leaf teas from all over the world. They also serve tea and sandwiches on their outside patio or to go.
