Hog Tide Bar-b-que

This has been a place that I have over looked for 3 years and hadn't given a second thought due to my own misgivings about the last BBQ that I had eat in town until today when I was out with my wife and daughter.... AND I'm A Dang fool for have passing this place off as the typical everyday BBQ establishment. I have to say if you pass this place up thinking you can find better..... GOOD LUCK. I have been all around the country state after state and have eaten at some of the most famous BBQ restaurants in the USA just to find out that HOG TIDE BBQ STANDS with the very best of them and above most on all point Taste, texture, tender, proper persention, service, as well as hospitality and not far from my own back yard. Well worth the drive just off the north side HWY 60 Aurora Mo.

Well I’m not sure which BBQ is my favorite now. I will not mention the other establishment here. This review is just for Hog Tide. First off, this restaurant was spotless from the moment we walked through the door. My wife and I were greeted even before we got to the door. There was a waitress bussing an outside table and even though she had her hands full she welcomed us and opened the door for us. I was impressed and we returned the action by holding the door for her to get through with her full hands. The rest of the staff was friendly and informative. The before mentioned waitress took our order. We then found a table. There were a few televisions and of course they had the Cardinals game on. I don’t think we waited 10 minutes for our food to come out. It might have been a little longer but with everything to look at the time went fast. Another waitress brought us our food. She was very nice as well and attentive. The food was great. I had a 2 meat platter with smoked chicken and Texas sausage. Both were wonderful but the best was the baked potato salad and cornbread. My wife had burnt ends platter. She also had the potato salad but she got fried okra as well. Everything on her plate was delicious. Thank you Hog Tide BBQ for a wonderful dinner all around.

They were a little off their game. The food was tasty but cold. We were in formed after a 30 min wait for our order that they were out of pulled pork and would we like a substitute. It was about 45 min till closing time. Thing can run out. My wife said she would take a turkey sandwich in its place. She was given a chicken sandwich. 20 min after we were told they were out of pulled pork.. I took the Texas sausage.. (it was cold very cold) side orders were forgotten and I had to show my receipt to prove I ordered it. I guess because of the busy night the ice machine was out of ice. ,(self serve beverages) when I asked staff about the situation. I was told it was not their problem. I am disappointed. It might be a while before I go back.
