I’ve had experience with Aurora Medical Center when my mother had a stay last year. That experience already had me at ease when preparing for my procedure. The staff, from check in to check out, are wonderful. Everyone involved introduced themselves and explained what their role would be. I was in and out in a very timely manner, just as scheduled. The cleanliness and Covid procedures were strictly adhered to. Hopefully I won’t have to go back any time soon but if needed, Aurora Medical Center will be my first choice for a medical center.

A few nice nurses and assistants. Cleaning staff impeccable. Food was average but usually lukewarm at best. Kyle was the only fully compassionate, giving, caring nurse I encountered that took personal interest in my well being, mental health, dignity, and recovery. Rarely saw an actual Dr. Most of the nursing staff were very uninterested, lacking in listening skills, attention, compassion, and care in general. At times I was even mocked for my personal beliefs, my long hair, etc. I was ignored often. The help button was useful maybe 10% of the time. I was often treated like lack of improvement was my fault and constantly threatened with heavy measures if improvement wasn't realized. I was told I would be fed intravenously if I did not eat, despite eating 2 meals a day consistently since arrival. I was under no water restriction but treated as if getting water was a hassle. Place felt more like a prison than a health care facility. I literally had to fake my status to escape the place. Recovery at home was much more rapid. It was difficult to give two stars here but the few good workers deserve credit for their efforts. I would avoid this place in general, at all costs.

This review is way over due. I was hospitalized March 2021 for Covid. I was very sick and was having such a hard time breathing. I went to the ER initially, which did take longer than I wanted, but I understood because of staffing and how the pandemic was at that time. I was admitted and stayed for the anti-viral treatment for five days. All the nurses, doctors, and janitorial staff were amazing. The food was so good, even though I had very little appetite. The care I received during a time I was very sick was amazing. I truly think if I wasn’t cared for properly like I was, I was going to die. They saved my life. Thank you all so much. I greatly appreciate what you did for me. I am so sorry that I am so late in thanking you and sharing my experience.

Very attentive staff in the ER. When taken ti my room my nurse Olivia was right on all my needs. She was very caring and compassionate. I was called back 4 days after discharge to let me know I needed to come back. As my lab came back abnormal. Upon returning they were very attentive.

My experience at Medical Center was a positive feeling from the time I went in the main entrance to the registration & getting my "prep" for surgery on the surgery Floor, everyone I encountered was very Professional, helpful, & pleasant.my Primary nurse & her team were excellent. I couldn't have asked for better care. I am appreciative to all that had a duty in my experience at the Medical center of Aurora, anesthesiology personal, & Dr. were exceptional.. All of the staff at the hospital are warm and friendly. They strive to make you comfortable, especially the people in Admissions and the technicians in X-ray. The Customer Care made it a very positive experience for me (the exact opposite of what I had experienced last December in Lab Corp—someone should check on them).

If I could give them negative stars, I would. My Grandfather has been extremely ill and was checked into the hospital. Throughout the course of his treatment, we have sent emails to the hospital regarding his poor care while in the hospital and never received a response. An email was even sent to the CEO of the hospital. There are so many issues to address that it would take a essay to discuss. He is extremely ill but discharged from the hospital anyway. The nurses have provided inaccurate information about his care, even referring to him as another patients name while speaking about him and his condition. In addition, he was being released to go home on his own but can't take care of himself. He's extremely sick and and we were told that he didn't need the care that he really needed. That they weren't babysitters. Only to find out the next day, he needed a serious treatment for a condition and had to be in the hospital for several more days. While there, his health got progressively worse and they still were pushing him out. If you love your family member, they are elderly, a veteran or a minority, DO NOT bring them to this hospital. The disparities in care are evident and they DO NOT care . The caseworker was the worst and lacked compassion or empathy for an elderly man that is a Veteran. What's worse is that the case worked did not care, lacked empathy and the resources she provided were for a "non-profit for Veterans". This non-profit organization which supposedly doesn't charge anything...charged $1000 to help place my Grandfather as a Veteran. The caveat is that even if they can't help find a place for him, they keep the $1000. Stay away from this hospital! There are many other issues that I won't go into but do not bring your family member here.

I was well taken care of. Great details on communication. Everything introduced themselves, explained what they would be doing. Then asked if i had any questions. Never left alone. Always felt well-attended like family was taking care of me. Truly felt that I mattered as a person not just another patient. Thank you all of my care providers!
