Stopped here after attending a wedding in Augusta. I was looking for a breakfast option as Augusta has few worthy options. Came in and made a simply order of egg and cheese on a toasted onion bagel. Bagel was delicious but the wait was over 15 minutes. I recommend calling ahead for pick up if you want something fast and quick. Food is good here so I do recommend you try this place if you ever are up in Augusta.

The food is phenomenal of course! However the service has just continued to plummet and plummet in the last few years. Understandably there are short staffed due to covid, however they serve people out of order. I placed an order to go for two bagels and waited over 30 minutes, seeing several people get there bagels ahead of me. It's frustrating as a consumer to not be prioritized by the order in which you placed your order especially when the food is being served hot. They also continuously disable their phone lines forcing customers to come in and place orders in person. This makes sense on a busy day but not 20 minutes after opening the business... Come on people! They're not even apologetic or polite to you after a mishap It's almost like you get ignored.🤷🏼♀️

This is definitely the best bagel place in Maine! Whenever we come through Maine, we make a point of stopping here. Bagel Mainea has an extensive menu with all sorts of combos to give you the perfect bagel! The staff are friendly and the prices are great. This place is a definite must-try!

Bagel Mainea is an institution in Augusta and although under newish ownership the new owners have maintained much of the beloved menu and are doing their best during the staffing crisis to keep up. There is a noticeable wait/turnover in staff but there are signs up indicating the need to be patient. The bagels are delicious and the Boars Head deli meats and cheeses are a great accent! You can choose from an extensive menu or make your own, with sides, drinks, and chips.

As a native New Yorker, I was willing to drive over and hour to come try these bagels. Only disappointment was the selection. But hey I arrived at the end of the day. Poppy and salt bagels fit the bill and were as close to home ( LI) that I have had in New England.

Excellent bagels. Crispy on the outside soft and chewy on the inside. They make great deli sandwiches fresh to order. Just perfect.
