Top Dawg Tavern - Augusta

I ate here on a Tuesday night. They have a happy hour Monday through Friday until 7pm. Unfortunately with it being football season they were out of a lot choices. Staff was friendly. Food came out quick, hot, and tasted fresh. My only complaint is that the burger patty is smaller than the circumference of the bun.

I ordered the shrimp & flounder for lunch. The shrimp were very tiny and looked as if they were not real shrimp. The flounder has to be already cooked fish and was over cooked. I went with 4 of my Co workers and neither one of us ate our food. The waiter stated she went to the manager and explained we were not pleased. Instead of offering us another meal we were presented with (1) $10.00 gift certificate for the entire table. We did not want a free meal just to be accommodated. The manager never came to the table, so we left unsatisfied.

When I have relatives in town, I usually take them here for a good sandwich and a beer. The food is always what you know you'll get. AKA consistent. On my most recent experience, we had a fantastic server Dominique. She was always moving and making herself busy. Cleaning tables, checking in the kitchen for food, and providing quality service to her customers. They have plenty of TVs for sports and drink specials!

Okay so I loved the chicken wrap the first time and I been here like 5 times after that and the burgers we got today were horrible! Taste like a burger you would get at a hospital as a patient. Last time I went the manager Macy had to remake my chicken wrap over. So honestly this place isn’t consistent with their food just gotta catch them when the good cook is there I guess. Ugh.

Basically this is not even a 1 star. This has been my worse experience ever. The fried fish look like chicken tenders. It seems as though the food came straight out of a box. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Management did not even bother to step up and make things right. So that says a lot. If you are a drinker then it's a place to visit. If you're coming to eat Good luck.

Been a few times. This place has potential to be a cool sports bar but the service is awful unless you are the bar. They need to hire better staff. Took 30 mins to get drinks and apps. Food comes out cold or waiter/waitress disappears for a long time and I have had to go track them down. I wish it was better. But we won’t be coming back unless just to have a few beers at the bar. : (

I can only go off of the two things that I ordered. I got the buffalo chicken dip and the fried pickles. The buffalo chicken dip was extra greasy. The fried pickles were greasy as well. Not that good. Especially mixed with the alcohol. The one thing that I can say was good was the mixed drinks. That made up for everything.
