We held a birthday dinner in the restaurant. It is child friendly. Chef put on a nice display cooking the various dishes at our table. Knives flashed and shrimp flew. Everything was very tasty. The meal was not hurried. Children left satisfied and happy. Food items were on the pricey side, but the meals come with salad, rice and dessert. This was our second visit. We will go back.

The food was good but I have 1 complaint. We were a part of a large party, roughly 13 of us, so we were all spread out and seated at different hibachi grills within the same section. So let's name the groups A and B and keep in mind we're all together. A chef comes out and verifies Group A's orders and begins to prepare the food while Group B looks on. After Group A's food is cooked and served THEN Group B's chef comes out and cooks for B. Wasn't ideal at all and of course Group A felt bad but what could they do. Good thing the food was good. 😁

I went here for the first time for my boyfriend’s birthday and we both had a great time! The chef and waitress were very nice, and the food was delicious! The restaurant was clean and quiet. I would absolutely come back here! Highly recommend.

Good sushi and friendly staff. It was pretty slow tonight and the sushi chef gave us a free sample of some custom sashimi roll he made, which was delicious. Had a friendly conversation with him, too. Great food for the money. We'll be back!

My girlfriend and I do hibachi as a date night occasionally, happy sumo is always the place we go.
The food is always exceptional and we’re presented with the usual hibachi tricks.
Their prices for the steak and seafood hibachi seem reasonable, considering it comes with the soup, ginger salad, and a small scoop of dessert afterwards.
It’s an experience with great food and is a great place to check out for an out to eat treat!

Food was good, we sat at the bar and the guy preparing the sushi was really kind and funny. However, there were dirty dishes at the bar table, maybe because they were too busy

This restaurant is always great. My kids love eating here. My youngest(3year old) looks for Caroline at the front everytime because he likes to flirt with her and she is great with him but everyone else there is just as professional and always make it a great personal experience. One piece of advice though, if you have wild and frizzy hair, sit a little further away from the grill. If you like good food and a little show, you have to try Happy Sumo.

Love and enjoy this hidden little gem. Their quality of seafood, meat, dressings & sauces are the best in the city! Definitely my family’s favorite hibachi and their sushi is pretty awesome. Pretty sure their sauces are all House made and extremely fresh in taste. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is very cozy and clean environment as well as restrooms.

Their sushi is pretty good, and the options are vast. Ask for their specialty menu if you're not offered one initially! Host, sushi/hibachi chefs, and owner are always so accommodating. Service from other servers seem to be hit or miss, unfortunately. And we all know that affects the dining experience.
