Great service and dogs are welcome on their patio. Everything we ordered was pretty good except for the vegetable tempura platter, the batter was too hard to eat and each piece was too chunky.
Yesterday late evening me and three friends sat at the bar and received, patient, attentive and accommodating service from your staff. We were a bit of a challenging group and the bartender repeated our order back to us, gave us his thoughts on what was best to eat and drink, and was gracious when one of the dishes wasn’t what we expected. Thanks for training and supporting your staff to be courteous as best as they can with busy group with lots of needs and questions.
This was my first time here and although the food experience was not what I had hoped for, the customer service was everything I needed to make up for it. The hostess, Liz, servers, Peyton and Jade and manager, Chet were all very nice and professional with their interactions. After Peyton's shift ended, Ms Jade stepped in. This young Lady was very attentive and understood my concerns without me having to say a word. I was impressed!! Chet was open to my feedback and expressed his concern about my overall experience and offered an opportunity for a better future food experience with them. This team definitely got it right with providing a great customer service experience.
I recently chose Char for a surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure the evening was exceptional. They were incredibly accommodating every step of the way.
Our party of 9 was warmly welcomed, and the wait staff was simply awesome. But what truly set this place apart was the energetic and welcoming atmosphere. One of the owners went out of their way to make the evening extra special. Not only did he graciously provide my girlfriend with a complimentary shot and a beautifully presented cake with a candle, but he also played fun and celebratory birthday music, creating an incredibly entertaining ambiance. The energy in the restaurant was infectious, and it made the entire celebration a blast.
Now, let's talk about the food - it was outstanding! I opted for the Korean bowl with chicken (Bibimbap), and it was beyond amazing. The flavors were vibrant and delicious, truly a treat for the taste buds.
Overall, Char Korean Bar and Grill not only delivered fantastic food but also went the extra mile to ensure an unforgettable experience for our special celebration. The combination of excellent service, a lively atmosphere, and incredible food makes this place a definite go-to. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience.
-bulgogi wrap
-sticky chicken
-super Junior grill
All good. Host and waiter were very nice. Food was good too!
First review of the new year, starting off fabulously.
Char Korean Bar & Grill is located in a pretty bustling part of Midtown. Bartaco, BeetleCat, and many more are located around the same area. Has a very dive vibe, while keeping a similar aesthetic when it comes to Korean BBQ with the vents and grill.
Parking can be tricky, but there's an obvious easy choice, which is the parking garage. You can get free parking on the streets in front of the spot, but it's limited. No parking validation, sadly.
Prices range from $10 to around $100 in terms of what you can choose from. There's a few more pricey options, but I'll leave that up to others.
Seating is usually for 2 to 4 people, parties of larger sizes may have some trouble getting seated. Especially if it gets busy. There is seating at the bar, if that's your fancy.
Took my family of 5 to get lunch. From the Korean Street Sandwich to Crying Tiger Steam, Wagyu Steak to the Baos, everything came out fresh and hot. Taste was great, couldn't really ask for more given the style of food. Highly recommend to try whatever sounds good to you.
Our waiter Justin was also amazing. Attentive and always made sure to check on us if we needed anything else.
Overall this is a great spot for casual outings or even an intimate night out. It is usually an open air space, so bring a coat or jacket if the weather calls for one. They have a couple of space heaters for those that like to sit outside. Will definitely make another trip back in the future.
Very nice indoor and outdoor seating. If it's colder weather, they have heaters by the tables. Decor is gastro-pub. Nice art on the one indoor wall. Nice location and is even right by the public parking garage. Best to use that if there's no street parking available.
The bar is cool, and really great if you're by yourself. Great selection of booze. Staff was friendly and interacted well with me.
I had the Kimchi Deviled eggs, and the Beef Bulgogi wrap. Delicious.
I enjoyed my time here.
This was some of the best Korean bbq I’ve ever had. There’s plenty of room to sit in and outside. When it’s cold they have heated lamps to keep you warm. Nice music plays throughout the restaurant for entertainment and then there’s a bar area where you sit and watch sports if you are a fan of that. My daughter brought me here for a late birthday dinner. We ordered the super junior, wings and peach soju. This was my first time doing this but the staff was very helpful in helping. The food melted in my mouth. It was so tender and seasoned. It was my birthday so I was offered a Carmel cake and ice cream on the house. The dessert was over the top..This is a must stop if you want to have great food in a great restaurant. It can get a little pricey but it was well worth it.
We went here in a Friday night just to hang out. The atmosphere was nice and very laid back. When sitting on the patio the people at the bar will have to serve you so if you are one that needs a waiter and the patio area is really not for you. The food was pretty good. It was a little bit expensive but it was worth the try. The meat was seasoned and the veggies were good.

Loved it. Very tasty and helpful staff. The only thing we did not like was the onion rings, they apparently are supposed to be very hard but they were so hard I was afraid of chipping a tooth when trying to bite it. It was inedible but the waitress was very kind and attentive. She offered us a free dessert which was the bread pudding and it was great. This is a good place to go to if you want something korean inspired!
