Definitely a place to stop and try the Japanese chicken fingers decent sides. The sweet potato fries were awesome. Sauces were good. Could use a little bit more greens along with the rice, chicken and potatoes. Cucumbers were yummy. Just needed more. ask for them

Omg….you have to try there Kamikaze Fries they are amazing. Food came out in just a few minutes after sitting down. Customer service was great and staff was very friendly. The manager Shelia I think she said her name was came out and checked on us a couple of times to make sure everything was okay and did we need anything. The restaurant was very clean and probably the cleanest restrooms I seen in a restaurant in a while. Over all I give it a five out of five.

This is my second time coming here! I was in the mood for tacos and chicken and figured I would give Ponko Chicken a visit. I had the grilled island chicken tacos with the Ponko Fries. Everything was delicious. If you’re looking for a low key Taco Tuesday spot, this is a place that will not disappoint. I will be returning very, very soon!

Unexpectedly good! The food was very fresh, but not really hot like it should’ve been. Nevertheless, it was very tasty. The sauce for the chicken was really good and the vegetables were very delicious. It was nice that they offered brown rice as one of the sides.

Ponko Chicken has been a local favorite of mine since they opened the first one in Stone Mountain, GA. My go to is always the spicy chicken with rice and a side of fries. To me the fries are some of the best in Atlanta. This location is clean, fun, and well staffed. Enjoy your chicken!

A robot brought us our chicken, not kidding and the first time I have had this happen. The chicken is very tasty, and they also have a full ba. Interesting place and will have to check it out again. Lots of interesting things on the menu (Japanese potato salad & a hot dog plate).

I’ve eaten here twice and it’s been amazing both times. The chicken is crispy and tender and just really good. Their fries are cooked and seasoned deliciously; even if you’re not big on fries, like me, try them. Rice is good too. The food isn’t greasy and is high-quality fast food. The sauces are all flavorful and even the pickles are notably good. This location has many good seating choices indoor and outdoor. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy Ponko (and it’s a perfect post rock-climbing meal if you’re coming from Stone Summit).

First I want to say that any business where people are actually working instead of being paid to stay home is impressive to me and I am grateful.
The place is clean and the food looks very lovely. But did-wise, I hate to report that I was just not impressed. The grilled chicken wasn’t actual chicken breast grilled and juicy, it was tiny little pieces about 1/2 inch long of packaged chicken pieces. The sauce was tasty but it was not what I would think of as grilled chicken. To me I’m envisioning it sliced and juicy.
The sweet potato fries were very tasty and plentiful. My husband ordered the fried chicken but pulled the breading off because it was overly salted (and he is not a picky eater)
Our friend got the taco and that looked good.
The matcha tea was very sugary.
All in all, the place is lovely and the company was awesome. The staff was attentive but I doubt I will eat there again.
NOTE: The owner replied to this post and very generously offered to make things right. THIS IS IMPRESSIVE AND APPRECIATED. All I can say is that everyone deserves a second chance and that I hope that when I disappoint my clients that they will be honest with me so I can do my best for them. Thank you Ponko Chicken.

We had an extremely long wait but there was a kind gesture made so I’m giving more star than I initially planned. The food was AMAZING though!!! The chicken was tinder. The OG sauce was sweet and delicious. The rice was tasty and so were the fries. My friend loved his tacos. We’ll definitely be going back! Oh, the carrot Cake and chocolate cake cups were DELICIOUS too!!

Today was take out only. No inside dining but the patio was available and we were informed of that when we approached to order. Very friendly counter folks and the food was quite tasty with reasonable portion sizes.

Rice was sticky, definitely reccomend the og sauce. Green beans reminded me of Japanese take on green bean casserole. Sweet potato fries were excellent. I had one of each tacos, I preferred the bbq and spicy. The vibe was cool and hip, would definitely return

My new go to restaurant!! Loved the feel of this place as soon as I walked in and the customer service was amazing. They were very patient as we were learning the menu and gave us excellent suggestions. The food!!! So good! The original Ponko chicken (5 strips) with 2 sides was what I picked and loved every bite!! So happy I found this place, just wish it would have been sooner!

The food tasted good but both the hubs and I had stomachaches afterwards. It was really greasy food. I had the tofu tenders and he had the ponko chicken. I really wanted to love this place because of the vegan options but we won't be back.

Loved it! The owner/manager lady was so sweet, ushering us in for a warm welcome, making sure we would not be lost in the menu as first timers. She walked us through all the specials including the taco Tuesday option with a $3 margarita (sold!). The food was delish, and very generous on portions. Really made sure to treat us like family � Will certainly be returning soon!

I'm happy to be the 200th review and the 199th person to give Ponko FIVE stars. The decade long wait for their re-opening was absolutely worth it. Chicken fingers with fries and sticky rice (with teriyaki sauce and ranch). Order it. The best $10 you can spend in Atlanta.

Ponko chicken is yum personified. The chicken tenders are tender and juicy on the inside, yet crisp and flavorful on the outside. Yum.
The fries (whether sweet potato or ponko fries) are crisp and flavorful on the outside, while hot and fluffy on the inside. Yum
If you’re not big on fried foods, then the grilled ponko is for you. There’s also salads and tofu.
Just go eat there!

What a great place to eat. Food is made fresh on site. Many varieties. You can get chicken strips regular, teriyaki, spicy, cubed teriyaki, different kinds of chicken sandwiches ... lots of sides including sticky rice, salads, unbelievable Cole slaw ... desserts that are so delicious. There's lots more but you'll just have to drop by so you can get the pleasure of smelling the chicken when you walk in the door! Dr. Pat says there's lots of surprises coming in the additions and more renovations. Watch for announcements. I think you'll all like them!! But, I'll just let Dr. Pat make those announcements. Don't miss this place. They've only been open a short time and already won FIRST PLACE at Taste of Atlanta!!

Literally the best chicken in Atlanta period. If you're tired of the same old fried chicken, you need to come here. The Japanese twist to fried chicken is to die for. Their sides are also amazing, especially their rice. Everything just mixes perfectly. Definitely making plenty of trips back here.
Also the GM told me they are building a bar as well, which is awesome! Can't wait for that.
Tip: Try their sweet tea, trust me, you'll fall in love all over again.

The food was fantastic. Tried a wide variety of what they had to offer and nothing disappointed. I would recommend this to anyone. Expansions happening for more seating and from what I understand some very special things in he near future? I’m making this a regular stop from now on as the chicken is truly addictive.
