Very popular Veg place in Atlanta. I got the kalebone and the Mac and cheese here. The kalebone tasted pretty familiar — if you eat a lot of veggie proteins you’ll know what I’m talking about. Nicely (and not overly) fried, though over-salted. The mac and cheese was surprisingly better than I expected. I’m not a fan of “vegan cheese” in general, but this was more like “Mac n sauce” rather than cheese. Unique taste and a hearty meal. Try it if you know you enjoy soul food!
Now this place is the truth.
Service from the male owner was great- gave some good recommendations and whipped up the food in a timely manner.
I got Tofu cutlets, Mac&cheese and brown rice n gravy.
Delicious and so flavourful!! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. It's honestly a rare find to have home cooked vegan soul food amoungst many chains these days, this is 10/10.
Also the Vanilla Pecan milkshake was A-mazing!!!
The food was out of this world but believe it or not, the service was even better. The staff was helpful and friendly and recommended the perfect meals. Side note- the sweet potato pie was to die for😋
From the garlic-y salad dressing to the perfectly seasoned collard greens, everything was super flavorful. Lovely portions and lovely hospitality. Only bummer was the cornbread being a sad lil stale piece but I am still going back for more, I'm just a sad lil stale piece myself when you think about it.
Update: second time's a charm ! Got a huge fresh piece of cornbread this time. Now I feel like a huge fresh piece myself thank you guys 🥰
I loved the sweet potato pie, Mac & cheese and the Jerusalem meal. It was a tad hot inside on the day of my visit, but the location is easy to find and the staff was friendly. The wait time was a bit longer than usual but overall everything was fresh.
This is my favorite Vegan restaurant in Atlanta. It is a great environment for people looking to try a healthier alternative nutrition without substituting taste. The food is always amazing here! You won't be dissapointed and will be delighted you tried it!
The food was good. However, my last bite of pancake had a piece of tin in it, which scratched my gum.
Great little vegan soul food spot. The food and service was great but the atmosphere could be better. I thought it was cool that the owners of this business are black Israelites. Not something you come across everyday. Definitely stop in for a bite to eat.
When we came in, we were greeted with a warn welcoming introduction and smile. We looked over the menu, ordered food. The food came out in Styrofoam to go plates but I actually prefer disposable plating atm. Food was dense, flavorful and filling. No need to ask for to go boxes because it was already packaged ad so. But one thing I can say is their portions are bigger than average so if you happen to be hungry you will be satisfied with the amount of food.
Vegan soul food? YESSSS! Spinach lasagna, Garvey Burger, Kalebone, greens, potato salad, mac-n-"cheese"...holy cow. Seasoned to perfection....The only thing better than the food was meeting Author, Healing and Wellness guru Rookamah Goldston and their amazing chef. The hospitality and positive energy was an incredible bonus.
