amazing food, amazing service. party of three , we brought two spectacular bottles of wine and ordered 6 glasses of wine off their menu. also two courses to go. so we ate for five. but the manager refused to comp us the corkage fees for our two bottles , and lied about another table with ten bottles of wines paying corkage. we asked them and they were comped. insult on top of injury. we would have brought large parties back to Portofino, but they were penny wise and pound foolish. We are comped at the best restaurants in Atlanta, Portofino needs to use judgement and do the right thing. Great restaurant poor management. she has a tough job and $20.00 is not a bad corkage fee, it's only a symbolic show of appreciation to comp us for that when we a) bought so much wine off their list and b) brought some spectacular bottles rather than common wines with us. Still, Portofino is an OUTSTANDING restaurant and highly recommend it.

My wife and I set out for some great Italian food and our expectations was far exceeded! From the suggestions for wine to the menu selections, our knowledgeable server got us the experience we were looking for! We will be back and highly recommend to anyone reading this!

Solid Italian offerings in a romantic and close setting. Staff are helpful snd pleasant. Great appetizers and decent enough mains. Not as many choices as one would expect. Sauces were a little heavy but light on spice. Not sure I will return.

Portofino is still hitting on all cylinders even after 20 years. Attentive wait staff without being overbearing. Dinner was wonderful. Well prepared with high quality ingredients.

Appetizers such as grilled octopus and the date and pecan salads were amazing, but the main entrees, the swordfish a.k.a the most popular dish at the restaurant, and another popular item per server, black spaghetti vongole were unfortunately way too salty to finish..

Really cute restaurant. They have patio steadying which is closed off with heaters now but it’s nice and spacious. We had excellent service and the food was very good!

From impeccable service, a well thought out menu, to delectable food, Portofino is a must when you are in Buckhead. My wife and I came to Portofino for my birthday. Our server, Amber, was truly amazing. She was attentive, well versed with the menu, made great recommendations, and made sure we left knowing we would be back again. I’m not a huge red wine drinker, however that is exactly what I was craving. We ended up trying six different wines until we found the right one! I promise we are typically not “those” patrons, but finding a red that my wife and I both like can be difficult. There was never a moment where Amber showed impatience. She was determined to find the best wine we could both enjoy. We split one of their speciality salads and we were left wanting more! We also ordered the cauliflower and tri-colored fettuccini. If you are a vegetarian, the fettuccine is a must! My wife, who is not a vegetarian, could not stop raving about it either. Whether it’s a date night, special occasion, or your just craving great Italian, Portofino will fit the bill! Oh, and they have a great patio to enjoy a glass of wine on a fall or spring evening.

Great Italian food in a classically styled intimate setting. I had the Seared Scallops and a Black Manhattan to wash it down. Service was excellent and our waiter Alvin, was very attentive and knowledgeable. A plus for me is there was valet parking as parking anywhere around East Andrews is daunting.

Food was delicious, and atmosphere was even better. We dined outside and tried a few of the pastas and mussels. Our service was okay. We didn’t need too much so I assume we didn’t give our waiter much of a chance to be more accommodating. I wouldn’t say it’s overpriced, but could be better for the portions.

Went here for an anniversary. First, we got free prosecco, which is always a good start. The food was fantastic as well. This is one of the only places we've been to that has arancini (fried risotto balls), and it was great. The duck breast was also probably the best cooked duck breast we've had anywhere. All in all, a great place for high-end Italian food in a nice chill setting, and something for any taste.

By far the best Frutti di Mare I've had in Atlanta. Black spaghetti Vongole was too salty though.
