Cotton Patch Cafe

Fried pickles are very crisp & very good! Brisket queso was ok, I guess. We removed the brisket so we could cut the fat off and it turns out almost all of it was fat, the other parts of the appetizer was ok. Margaritas are good. We also ordered chicken tenders with honey BBQ & sweet chili sauce. The sweet chili sauce was good but I was surprised how much I didn't like the honey BBQ. Our service was good, overall, not bad. Within about 30 minutes or do didn't feel too great, we think it was just that everything seemed to be heavily fried, just lacked balance.

I walked in with pretty high expectations from all the reviews. It was 9pm on a Saturday an hour before they close. We received subpar everything- the food was just “eh” my shrimp had fries (I didn’t order fries). My potato was just in the edge of cool. The only positive was the ability to pay with a QR code.

The food was great. My waitress Tierany was great. Not my personal experience but my observation of the service from another waitress to a lady who had 6 young grandchildren with her was absolutely unacceptable. The girl's boyfriend was sitting a couple of boots in front of me and she spent 99% of the time that I was there engaged with him. She was the one serving the grandmother with the grandchildren and when a glass of water was spilled by the grandmother other the waitress did not help to clean it up. She did go back to the back and get some additional napkins, nautical and not enough napkins enough napkins and she just laid him on the table and walked back over to her boyfriend and left the grandmother to fend for herself. I was absolutely appalled. I do have the name of that waitress and if the store's manager would like to contact me I'd be happy to share it with him. So if you go to cotton patch, expect good food and expect really great service if you ask for Tierany.

Wonderful experience! After leaving vacation in Dallas we found ourself in Athens looking for something good to eat. We found Cotton Patch Cafe and had a wonderful experience. As a family of 5 with 3 small children the hostess was quick and accommodating when seating. The food was great with a little bit of everything on the menu to please everyone in the whole family. Restaurant is clean and neat. The BEST part of the entire experience was our waitress Ms. Angela Napps! She went over and beyond for our family. She was patient and kind with our children and made them feel super special during our dining experience. There should be more people in this world just like her! We will be going back to the Cotton Patch Cafe in the future!

I'd like to say I had a good time, but when you've ordered a dish before and know what to expect, then the waitress brings it out and claims it doesn't come with a specific item it most certainly came with before (and the menu clearly says it comes with), one tends to be disappointed with the meal. Green beans, mushrooms, black-eyed peas, and many other vegetables are undoubtedly from a can. Rolls were slightly undercooked. Service was fair at best. Dirty seats, dirty table, and dust on anything that dust could possibly settle on. The unsweetened tea was excellent, though. What happened to this place?! I've really enjoyed their food before, but this time was a terrible disappointment.

This place is usually very good, might have a not as good experience once in a blue moon. Service tends to be good and very friendly, they usually keep drinks filled. Food is fantastic most of the time, my favorites are the Chipotle mapled chicken and the Sirloin steak. The desserts are really good as well.
