This is the only correct place to get calzones in Athens. Don’t waste your time at Eddie’s. There’s hardly ever a crowd, and it’s a fun place to go to after a late night downtown. The BBQ Chicken Zone can take my money.

Great food and service. They are some hard working people. I work nights and need a pick me up and since they are open the latest we order from them. It was getting close to closing. I got delayed going to pick up and was worried they'd be closed since it was 10 mins till and I've had places close before thinking no one will pick up. They were there and waiting. Still had my food hot and ready to go. They were also extremely nice and understanding.

D.P. Dough is my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Athens. Eddie's Calzones are not bad, but D.P. Dough has so much more cheese. And it's amazing that they are open so late (we work night shift). Note: their dessert cheesecake pie calzones are the tastiest things ever, when they don't run out because everyone must love them as much as we do! if you see them on the online menu, order them because they might be out next time!

We had a big day and were unable to stop to eat. We Yelped and D.P. Dough came to the rescue. They had a vast array of calzones to pick from. We stuck with the Italian and it was big enough to split between us. We also ordered the Roni Bites and they blew us away at how good they were. With the garlic drawn butter and some marinara they are a must. The crew was ready to help when we had a snag with the online order through Yelp. It was 11:00 at night and we were thankful D.P.'s was ready to serve.

Visiting from out of town & wanted something good to eat. The calzone was good but the wings were so bad… they arrived cold … I’m guessing bc they’re cooked from frozen ? They were soggy and not fried all the way. Bit into one and it was ice cold in the middle. :( $30 for a calzone and wings just to have to throw one item away. Ugh.

Cashier was rude, restaurant was dirty and who thinks it’s smart to melt cheese on foil and then serve it? Don’t recommend.

Amazing and super helpful staff, Tiffany rocks. Solid late night calzone hits the spot when you absolutely should have eaten before you went out.

***Follow Up: I ended up getting a text from David after I left the review at the bottom and I am not only impressed at how willing he is to reach out to his clientele, but his willingness to make things right with his customers. Super nice guy, very easygoing, totally a person you'd have a beer with. I learned a few things that have made me change my impression: adding spices is an extra, so make sure you ask for it ("hook it up"). If you order through EatStreet, they charge extra for popular items because they charge DP Dough a commission fee. That being said, if you ask for extra sauces like marinara on the side and you order through EatStreet, they might not give it to you because technically you didn't pay for it-- this is something they are working to figure out, though. If you call them directly, their prices are a bit lower and you'd get to talk to nice-guy David! Bonuses are always a treat. I respect this company. Also, their delivery drivers are kind and gentle with your food. Previous post: 4 dollars for cheese tots isn't worth it. There were no spices on the calzone so it was super bland. I asked for sour cream and marinara and got neither except for ketchup. Go to Eddie's Calzones instead-- more tots, better cheese, spices on the Calzones and the fully fulfill your order.
