Good and cheap food. The service is a tad slow and the restaurant is little dirty, but the cheap prices make up for that. I recommend the beef taco and cheese dip with chips.
Would eat here once a week at least. Moved away and miss taco stand.. One of the best places in town!

Always enjoy it. Taco stand is great, but I have yet to meet anybody who isn't from athens that likes it.
5 Stars for the food and it still being Taco Stand! However, it suffers from the modern blight of most other local Athens eateries... it's become an haven for rude pensioners and pseudo-Athens elitists... you know, the type who bring their own bottles of wine... to Taco Stand. Last visit, I was subjected to two post-wall "wymyn" who had a loud diatribe about "male privilege" so we all could hear. Then, they proceed to make obvious, snide comments about our talkative 12yo, again, so we could hear it. Please bring back 1995 Athens, when the Bohemians and burnouts and professionals and coeds all got along, because this modern, classist, post-woke Athens is unbearable.
It has been around for quite a while, but it's hard to beat for price. Food was really good. Good place to go for an inexpensive meal.
