Tora Sushi Lounge is a decent place, serving more than just sushi items on their menu. I had their Udon noodles one time, and their sushi on another occasion during happy hours. Did not regret visiting both times.
The waiters here were very hardworking, and busy, often to the point where we had to call them over to get our bill. It's understandable though, especially during happy hour with almost all the tables in the restaurant being full!
The atmosphere is very fitting and relaxing for a Japanese-based restaurant. Lanterns and fish decorations hung all over the ceilings, and the tables were spacious enough for all our plates (a group of 4) without overcrowding. Definitely worth visiting Tora Sushi if you're craving sushi within the Astoria area!
I had the bento box and switched out the California Roll for the Lion Roll. Upcharge of
only $5. I've never had a bento box with this much amazing goodness! Highly recommend.

Dude this place rocks. I've been to the seaside location before and liked it. Now that I'm here again at the Astoria location the vibe is the same. This fish for the prices is incredible. I've been to hundreds of sushi restaurants, I eat it everyweek. This fish for the price is S+ tier. The best I've had in a long time🫠😭😍. Worth the trip to coast alone!.
Very good udon - my daughter had the tempura udon and my husband had the hangover cure which was made extra spicy to his request. He was impressed by the fact that they indeed made it very spicy as many restaurants usually miss the mark for him. Both were not overly salty and flavorful. We also had the calamari which was battered and deep fried perfectly - not over cooked and was a soft texture…only thing is I wish it had slight more seasoning/saltiness but it was good nonetheless. I also had the fire crunch roll which had tempura shrimp, imitation crab, cucumber in the middle and topped with seared ahi tuna and 3 different sauces - it was spicy and delicious. Overall great experience.
Great sushi and great atmosphere. There are plenty of gluten free options and a few vegetarian and vegan options as well. The kids menu was great and came with a large amount of food. The only thing that was not great was our waitress. She was very slow paced and took way too long to check on our table. Every other server was extremely efficient tho. We would have ordered more rolls if our table was checked on more often. Ill give a 5 star review as the other staff was amazing and I don’t believe that one inadequate server should take away a star. The sushi was fantastic quality. Definitely check them out!
We had some great service at the Tora Sushi Lounge. The sushi was good quality and we enjoyed the “Monkey Balls”! The Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri cocktails were decent but could have been great with less blended ice and thicker straws! It was hard to drink them without getting ice stuck in the straw and when we finished there was huge blocks of consolidated ice at the bottom of the drinks. Also, the sushi rolls could be improved with less sauce - one of our rolls were drenched!
Overall, without the mediocre cocktails this place was good! Great service and quality sushi! We would come back again.
Nice place, very clean, service was a lil slow but still attentive and service with a smile! On a cold day there was no heat on and it was quite cold inside. The food was super hot and fresh, tastes really good but the price is kinda high imo, but fair enough not to be ridiculous. I enjoyed eating there and would go again.
Our lunch here was absolutely amazing. Best sushi we've ever had, the chicken bowl was mouthwatering and delicious and I would go back immediately to have it again
Loved this place! Our server gave an excellent recommendation for a new sake, and literally everything we ate was DELICIOUS. The soft shell crab, the sashimi plater, the tempura udon soup, the tuna, it was all DEEEEELICIOUS!
Update: Dinner with the family was amazing tonight. Everything was spot on, couldn't be happier.
The Astoria location is beautiful and has great food. The pricing and portions are in-line and offer a good value for your purchase.
They have a good variety on the menu coupled with daily specials making this a good place for a group meal.
There is a variety of beverages both adult and non alcohol.
Service is good and they are doing take-out with covid rules on place.
The person who took my order over the phone seemed like they were having a bad day and wasn't super pleasant to talk to but when I picked up my order the people in the shop were very nice.
