Our server Maddie was so sweet kind and helpful. Her recommendations were spot on.
We came in on a Thursday. Who could pass up a $10 scrumptious gourmet burger.
We will be back. Can’t wait to try the Moroccan Curry and the Rib Eye.

Nice, upscale place in Astoria. Good place to spend a relaxed, unhurried evening. Recommend a table vs. bar seating - always a chance of being in the company of loud locals.
The menu is surprisingly diverse and tasty.

Lunch time experience. The establishment was clean on the inside. The decor gave it an upscale feel, and that translated into the prices as well. The seating was spacious, and the tables were large. This is good is you need elbow room to eat. During lunch you seat yourself. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We didn't have any drinks other than water but the bar area was fully stocked and a bartender was there to wait on you. The food was delicious and delivered quickly. The desserts looking amazing but we passed on eating desserts here. I only gave 4 stars due to the prices of the food and the portions provided. Other than that it was a good experience. Like this post if this answers most of your questions.

Stopped in for desert and drinks. Was not disappointed. Drinks were great. Pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate cake hit the spot. Coffee was a little weak.

Service was friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the happy hour menu items we had was tasty. I had a burger, beets and blueberries bruschetta, and tiramisu. All of it was delicious. I especially liked the bruschetta. I like that they have seasonal items.

Vegetarian options🌱 beet and blueberry bruschetta is amazing. The Brussels sprout’s are definitely a must have. They were the best that I have ever had 🤤😀. I give four ⭐️’s because of the veggie burger that my parter got. Unknowingly it was brought to the table not being the vegetarian option luckily he did not take a bite right away and the. one of the waitresses caught it was the meat option instead of the vegetarian one. We had to wait for the new one and it mushy and so he didn’t finish it. The decor and aesthetic was pleasing!

Great ambience, yet it appeared the staff was not prepard for a near full house... Wait times for main course took more than what it should.
With that being said the food exceeded expectations.. The Chocolate Cake was to die for!

Great atmosphere and great host; Dishes are far from boring and well presented. Top it off with a good selection of brews and a full bar and you'll want to come back for more. (Brussel sprouts are most delicious) 🤤

We had not been to Astoria for many years. We continue to hear about how great the town has procrasted with brew pubs restaurants and a rejuvenated downtown. We joined with some good friends that live be area and they introduced us to Carrruthers Restaurant. You entered the restaurant and immediately high ceilings vintage decor and massive bar. The cuisine is very dramatic approaches to meats and seafood. I had their chicken special over uniquely seasoned cauliflower and it was excellent. They also do a very nice job on crafting cocktails as I enjoyed a perfectly made Ransom old Tom martini. We're looking forward to our next visit to Astoria to visit further and I'm sure we will be visiting Caruthers again.

If you are looking for a high end dining experience look no further than Carruthers! You can show up in fancy clothes or shorts and a ball cap but you'll be treated like you own the town! You need to go and enjoy their amazing bar and menu!

So yummy! The atmosphere was laid back and chill but you could still dress up and not feel weird. The prices were very fair ecspecially if you consider the amazing taste and quality of the food!

09/08/2022 We came here on a Thursday evening. We had a Carruthers Burger, Pad Thai, Rockfish Tacos and Asada Fries. Everything was delicious. Our friends ordered the Asada Fries with her Rockfish Tacos, thinking they were a side but the portion was ginormous. Meghan, our server was super nice and helpful. It's really a great restaurant.

Carruther's has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and some really good cocktails too. Be specific if you like a drink a certain way. We just found out they serve brunch all day on Sundays and I can't rate the pumpkin French toast high enough. It is sinfully good.

Great food, great drinks and great atmosphere! Love this place and am so happy they open for lunch now. Had lunch here yesterday with my husband. We split the Brussels sprouts appetizer - delicious. I would eat that as a meal! We then split the croque madame which was so good my husband said “next time I’m getting my own.” I have to say they truly use quality ingredients which elevates everything. So important & missing from a lot of north coast restaurants imo. Drinks are on point. We’ve been here for dinner several times including our last anniversary. It’s been great each time. Service has been great as well. I recommend!

Definitely coming back. Part of me wants to wait for a table next time, so I can check out the great artwork in the bar/lounge area.

If you live in Astoria you need to go here. I used to and am in town for the weekend and decided to check it out and I was beyond impressed. My bar tender, Laura, actually declined to make me my first beverage choice because she didn't think I seemed like a person who would like it. After describing it and recommending another, she was right! More bar tenders need to do that, the best service is giving a customer what they will enjoy. As for the food, all of it was prepared and presented immaculately. One of the best meals I've had while dining out, and being a chef myself, I can say that this place is on point in every way. So if you haven't been there yet, do yourself a favor and go!

We came tonight for our first time. Simply put the food was amazing. We started with the artichoke for an appetizer and I had the rack of lamb for my entree. It was cooked perfectly and the flavors paired amazingly. My boyfriend had the fried chicken and it was perfect comfort food dish. The textures were as wonderful as the flavors with the beautifully crisped coating and melt in your mouth tenderness of the chicken.

Amazing menu creations that make your mouth explode with all flavors . Wonderful plate presentation, suburb cocktails and the ambience is magical. I loved the service, prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable with wine selections. I defiantly will be going back and will refer people to this highly exceptional eating venue in Astoria, Oregon.

Reservation at 7. Didn't get seated until 820. They comped some drinks which was nice. However, once we were seated it took 30 minutes to get a waiter to our table. Then they got my wife's order wrong. Once they dropped off the food a waiter never came back over. Ended up finishing and waiting 30 minutes for a check. The food was OK but not worth the three hours we spent at the restaurant.
Edit: just when I thought the evening couldn't get worse....I left review while at restaurant. An Employee saw it and came to the table and started complaining and swearing at us because apparently if you comp drinks the service can be terrible.

I'm leaving a mixed review. I had previously given 5 stars due to fantastic food on our initial visit. We attempted to go again on a Saturday night. I walked in and asked the hostess if there was a wait for four people. She rolled her eyes and was very annoyed and snotty that we would even think we could get in without a reservation. I even got a bit of a lecture! How stupid could I even be to try and eat there? I posted my comment to Carruthers and it's been deleted twice, so apparently they don't care. I would expect a business to take customer service seriously. Like say, "gee, we're sorry that happened and we'll address it". To completely disregard your customers? Unbelievable.

There is not enough that I can say to explain the dining experience my girlfriend and I had here recently beyond..... simply amazing. Every once in a while you come across something in life whether a restaurant, or a place, or business etc. where everything just clicks on such a higher level that you know you have found excellence. As I stated to the wonderful server Jean Marc, who was in a class all his own, this restaurants tag line should be "Welcome to Flavor Country". Between the food, the ambiance, the decor, the service, and the truly creative and original spirit that is infused in everything that was placed on the table, I will be returning again and again. Bravo Carruthers!
