Delightful, delicious, and classicly decorated. The lamb is not to be missed. Dishes are generous and perfectly seasoned. Every one comes with fruit and greens. On top of great food, the atmosphere is just lovely. The whole place is festooned with greenery and every table always has blooming orchids. We usually visit in the depths of winter when the tourists aren't so brave, but we went early on a Friday evening in July and it was just as perfect. All I can say on top of the wonderful food and lovely decor is that the owners have been there for years and I worry that we may not have too many more years of their wonderful food before they decide it's time to retire. Be sure to visit soon!

Come for the authentic Bosnian pitas, stay for the truly familial atmosphere.  Just don't complain about the volume of the Bosnian pop music or it will be turned up (and you might get yelled at) - literally - but hey, dinner and a show!  Service was friendly and genuine, and the Turkish coffee was delightful.  Bonus points for the real orchids on all the tables.  Just don't come here with with a timeline in mind, waiting is part of the experience.

We've been here a couple of times and the food is amazing. The menu isn't the largest, but what they do have is well done. I've had the lamb and the egg/cheese pie, I highly recommend both.

We had the place to ourselves for an early Friday dinner and were delighted with the charm and friendly service. We both had pita, I tried the vegetarian spinach one and my sister had the meat one. The server brought us a delicious spread of appetizers while we waited and we enjoyed the fruit water. The pita was very worth the wait! Large portions and so good. They had several vegetarian dishes. We split a piece of baklava to finish and it was also very good. Highly recommend!

A small focused menu true to the Bosnian heritage of the owner. All the food was beautifully prepared, the lamb chops were amazingly tender and flavorful, the beef stew meat was tender, juicy, and the broth well seasoned. The small cold meat and pepper appetizer was plated nicely. The owner was warm and welcoming, the wait staff familiar.

This restaurant is a hidden treasure of the city of Astoria. We're visiting from Central California and it was a great experience to have dinner here. We split the Sopska salad, had the Sarma Sa Povrem and the Bosanski Gulas and Kafa after dinner. It was a wonderful meal and the setting was great. Our dinner here definitely will stand out as a high point of our vacation.

It's our first time trying Bosnian cuisine, and we would describe it as "comfort food with different spices". The food was very good and presented beautifully, with generous servings of cut fruits on the side. The ambience of the main dining area was nice, with a little bit of 50's feeling. We didn't spend too much time in the more modern bar area (?). We came at a rather unfortunate time as the restaurant just lost 3 staffers that day, so service was slow. The elderly owners, however, amazingly served us themselves with dedication, chatted with every diner, and worked in the kitchen. I would normally give a 2-3 for this kind of slow service, but looking at the situation and the level of details that the elderly couple poured over the many diners, I can only imagine the service would have been great at better times.

This was definitely one of the best meals I have ever had. The reviews for this restaurant are well deserved. I had the beef cabbage roll and Piraat ale. It was a perfectly balanced dish. It was salty, savoury, and finished sweet with fresh fruit. The juice from the cabbage rolls alone was divine. The waiter/owner told me that they only have one chef because she crafts these dishes in such a way that it cannot be taught. In this day and age, that is rare in a restaurant environment. They could have cut corners and hired multiple chefs and lowered quality, but no. They stuck to their guns and it shows. I will definitely be coming back for more.

My wife and I were looking to get away for a couple of days and decided on Astoria, based in large part to having heard about this restaurant. It exceeded its reputation in my estimation. There is no pretense here, just honest, succulent, authentic regional cooking lovingly made. The menu is small but still provided enough variety for two evenings of delicious food, along with regional wines. The pitas are especially good, as is the stuffed cabbage with meat. I could not recommend this place more highly for those interested in genuine regional cuisine. Be prepared for food that is authentically salty as well.

They served the best lamb I had ever had! It was definitely worth the price and the wait. I believe the restaurant is run by only a senior couple who are very nice, so please be patient with them. The cabbage stuffed with beef was also phenomenal! You can find beers from all over Eastern Europe such as Poland, Bulgaria, Montenegro, etc. I had a Nisko beer from Serbia.
