Cool spot. Like that there are no pretentious lines that you would typically find in Manhattan. Attractive crowd, friendly bouncers and security, and cute bar tenders. Music is hip hop which i loved. Drinks were somewhat reasonable. Really crowded to a point where you can barely move, but it's all good. Nice spot. Recommended.

I have never eaten at republic during the day. Republic becomes a club and bar at night. This is when I have always gone, and I can say it is one of the best places for an exciting night out. The pizza there is also pretty good, but a little bit pricey, but then I suppose what do you expect when you order pizza in a club at night. Either way, Republic is always a good time.

Went here for the first time on a date. It was a cozy spot. We were first seated at a table, but I asked if we could be moved to a booth altho the booth looked like it was set up for like 4 or more ppl. They moved us no problem (maybe b/c it wasn't that full). I loved the booth b/c it had corners and it was perfect to sit in and still be next to a person if you wanted to be. I liked the atmosphere and how the bar was in the middle of the room. I don't know if there was a DJ or they just had a playlist but the music was great a lot of old school music like Dru Hill, Rob Base etc. I was jamming! It wasn't many people there at first, but as the night went on people were in and out. It seemed to be a lil bit of a local bar hangout but also a place where you can sit and have a nice dinner. It is a pizza place and the pizza was delish. We had the Kale pizza.. sooo good. The staff was very nice and friendly which I appreciate even after our waitress came by like 3 times to see if we were ready to order our apps. We apologized b/c we were talking so much we hadn't look at the menu..lol But on 3rd time we made a decision. She was quite patient with us. I will definitely be coming back again.
Visited 3 times while I was in New York for my holidays. Always packed but I only really enjoyed it the 3rd time. I guess it depends on the DJ....
Its Cool famous ppl be there.
Great little bar in Astoria. It can get pretty Greek by the end of the night. Oh! And there's brick oven pizza. Go figure.

Made a mistake in my review, I thought i had gotten charged differently on my card as what i was told at the bar. My mistake. Satisfied overall
