Crust was soft with a crunch. The sauce is a bit sweet... I actually TASTE the sauce! 🤤 Chill atmosphere and plenty of space.
The sesame seed crust is something you’ll either really enjoy or find really weird. I really enjoyed it. It’s pretty thick, but the right blend of fluffy and dense. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy a slice, and even play some video games in the back.
We ordered the beef guron chicken gyro fries and the garlic bread. All were tasty. Good size portions
This place is CLOSED as of yesterday, August 7, 2022. I just called today for delivery, a guy answered and said they closed yesterday. NO MORE FOOD. NO MORE DELIVERIES.
Was a good place for years since I first went in there as a toddler in 1979. The last 10-15 years though their price raises were ridiculous. I remember paying about 0.85 cents for a slice in 1987 after school to $4.50 last week. Honestly, inflation does NOT cover that. Most Ditmars Astoria people were disgusted by how our hometown pizzeria we grew up with were trying to rob the very people that supported and loved them. They thought they could take advantage of their history here. They became money hungry and that was very sad to see. I feel bad for the cooks there. But in the long run, I suppose it’s not a surprise that they closed. They had it coming.
A place that's also been there "forever" along with L&B in Brooklyn, and for good reason. Great regulars, great gyros
Pizza Palace feels like a relic of the 80s in the best way possible, from the decor inside to the glow of it outside on a cold winter evening. They seem to have a nice selection of slices and a ton of other stuff too. The slices are huge for the price.
Money hungry?? Maybe you might have noticed the area being upscaled? Did you ever consider the effect of large rent increases that each lease brings in an upscaled area, especially on a prime corner? So what would YOU have done differently, dealing with the challenges of rising rents, meeting payroll, turning a profit, etc. I will miss Jack and the guys and wish them all buona fortuna. Will also miss their great gyro platter I came in from south Brooklyn for. T from Brooklyn.
I ordered a slice with pepperoni, it was $5.75. I was a bit shocked but when I got it I knew why. It was Huge! And there was pepperoni everywhere. And it tasted good.😊. I recommend this place to everyone, especially if you're hungry.
80's born kid here; Been going here since the 90's after school as a kid and the carousel and arcades are still there!! Nostalgic place close to my heart. The pizza here is fantastic and hits all your nostalgic taste buds!
The best pizza ever I have eaten in Queens, I highly recommend you to come over here and eat a delicious pizza.
