Nice little spot with a great variety of empanadas (50 flavors to choose from). I tried the Spicy Chicken (wheat flour patty) and Black Bean & Cheese (black beans + feta + mozz cheese inside maíz patty). The Spicy Chicken was delicious - not very spicy in terms of heat, but the flavor definitely used a lot of (delicious) spices. Chicken tasted high quality. The wheat flour (fried) patty was perfectly crisp. The Black Bean & Cheese was surprisingly filling and I loved the mix of the feta and mozz cheese - it made for a super gooey texture. The maíz patty was a great flavor and had a good crunch too. Service was friendly and smiley. Nice music playing in the background and had good AC inside. Price was very affordable and worth it for the quality. Will definitely come back.
I only ordered a spicy chicken empanada and I was happy with it, I regretted not ordering two. I didn’t want to order another one because they do take quite a bit to get your order out. I noticed a bunch of customers following up on their orders. Cleanliness was sorta acceptable. Customer service was fine. For the amount I paid in relation to how good the empanada I had, I think it’s worth going back.
It is one of my favorite empanada places.
I can recommend baked pork and baked Hawaiian
The cashier services are not perfect. Always a long line. But tasty.
Mama's Empanadas has become my go-to for catering events. I've ordered about 5 times in the last few months and the food and service has been impeccable every time.
I have ordered anywhere from 100-600 empanadas at a time.
The empanadas are always delicious and freshly made and I always get asked where I get them. Have ordered a variety of different flavors and all have been fantastic, so are the salsas.
Service wise, the ordering has been very easy over the phone, they only have asked for 1-2 days of heads up when making big orders. Plus my order has always been ready on the time agreed. They have also delivered flawlessly to our event locations too. Huge props to Paola for fantastic costumer service every time!
Will continue to order from them and you should too!
Always my Go-To coming in or leaving the City. Always delicious fresh and hot. Today I tried an assortment and after 3 I'm already full. Best quick bit you can eat .
Pork and beef are traditional. My new favorite is the Tuna paired with the spinach and cheese. QUE Ricas! And yes a $5 Beer to go with it. I'm always happy here at this place no matter what.
Whether your a Native, stopping by, or just here for a minute visit this delightfully delicious eatery .
GREEN SAUCE Green Sauce GREEN SAUCE, Corn is OK but thick wheat is savory
Also note if you have kids this is a great place for them to eat because it's simple and inexpensive.
Mama’s never fails to hit the spot. This place is an all time favorite. The empanadas which a tad smaller then some, are tasty and reasonably priced. I usually get the corn empanada will ground beef along with a variety of fried wheat ones such as pork, Mac and cheese w/ hot dog, meatball parm, and pizza. I also love their mozzareapa and salchipapa. I absolutely love coming here
This empanadas place is pretty good. Seemed clean. Was very busy, so that must be a good sign. As far as taste, the chorizo filling was pretty good. The shell is slightly hard, but it was still delicious. I think this would be a great spot after drinks or late night snack. Would revisit
Been coming here for years, the best empanadas in nyc. Love the tamales and chips & guac too. A bit of a wait because they make them fresh, but worth it.
Its so good. The beef is so flavorful and the packet sauce is cool spicy and tasty.
