In a fairly quiet part of Astoria, the place was bustling on a Saturday night. We started doff with a Greek salad that was loaded with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and feta; it was light and wonderful. The spreads sampler was served with lovey piping hot pita. It included
Tzatziki which was standard, Melitzanosalata (eggplant mousse) which was excellent, the Taramas ( uses fish roe) which was honestly so fishy I couldn't eat it even though I've enjoyed it elsewhere and Taramas which was tasty.
A house specialty is the sweetbreads; they were well prepared and sautéed in an olive oil and wine sauce. The whole fried calamari was huge and cooked perfectly. Could have used a bit more seasoning, but once I asked for lemon, it was even better. The side of rice, wasn't anything to write home about.Chicken Kababs they serve with boiled potatoes which i really loved but kababs are bit too hard.
A great place, with an energetic atmosphere that has some standout items.Service and staff was really warm and friendly.

Loukoumi Taverna, a small restauraunt lost in the Ditmars area of Astoria, Queens, is like visiting the islands of Greece themselves. The decor is gorgeous and the staff are very welcoming. Upon arrival you are greeted by the host and are offered to sit in the main dining area or the outdoor backyard. The backyard, by the way, is opened all year round -- in the winter they use strobe heaters to warm the place up. As you sit you are immediately given soft sweet baked pita and olive oil to dip in. The menu is extensive and caters to vegetarians as well. We began with saganaki (fried cheese!) and a carafe of wine. For our entrees we shared a horiatiki salad and I had "loukoumi chips" which are fried zucchini rounds and lemon potatoes, while my partner had a branzino with horta (greens). We were given a piece of baklava complementary for desert, as well as a "loukoumi" which is a piece of soft candy. The whole experience was heavenly and temporarily fills my travel needs.

This is not a restaurant review, this is a description of an ongoing love affair , my wife is definitely with me on this. The decor, the wait staff, the participation of the kitchen personnel on the restaurant floor, and most importantly, the fresh, beautifully prepared and plated seafood.
The fresh sardines, grilled simply with a touch of olive oil, salt and pepper, are amazing. I have been tempted to keep ordering plates of this appetizers until sated, but have yet to muster the courage to do so, it seems so decadent, and I wonder if I'll know sated when I reach it.
The fish, we have always ask for the staff's recommendations on what is the freshest, the most desirable for that night and have not been disappointed. Simply prepared, simply outstanding. This place, like so many great restaurants, is about what they do with the freshest items available, and prepares it so that freshness is what you taste, what you remember.

Authentic Greek tavern with amazing food and friendly service. I would recommend to start with grilled octopus and fried calamari, and get the lamb chops with lemon potato. Great for a pleasant dinner with friends, as well as a romantic date.

Drove in from Smithtown to try this amazing restaurant! Highly recommended, and it didn’t disappoint. We started with calamari, octopus and spreads. One more delicious then the other! I had the swordfish and beets…both were amazing! Looking forward to going back!!!! Worth the wait.
I usually don’t venture out to Astoria for food, but came here for a family dinner. I was really impressed by their service. Our waitress kindly sat me and my husband down right away even though our total party of 6 was coming in slowly. Throughout our meal she was very attentive and gave off a very positive energy.
In terms of food, everything was absolutely delicious. Not to toot my own horn, but I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was hands down the best thing in the table. Perfect char, super juicy chicken chunks. I’d make that trek to Astoria again just for their chicken souvlaki. We also got the Pikilia spread (spread sampler) to share - for $17 you get 4 small ramekins of spread, a bit overpriced for the amount you get. Will just order a single spread in the future.
Top rate Greek Taverna! Good food, pleasant, clean atmosphere and friendly, helpful service! What more do you want? It was my first time there and we let the waitress know. First thing she told us was not to worry, all the food is good, and we wan send back what we don't like at no charge; not that there was anything to send back. Everything was delicious. They even gave us a complimentary dessert, which was a very nice treat. Maybe I've said too much! I don't think you can go wrong here.
This is a delicious Greek restaurant in the heart of Astoria. The restaurant is very spacious, with a great selection of dishes, wines and desserts. It even has an outdoor party room. The service here is equally amazing. Noise level is low and the ambient music is at perfect volume. Great restaurant for any occasion.

Everything and I mean everything in this restaurant was so nice! Greek food that really reminds 🇬🇷 Greece🇬🇷, warm and nice atmosphere, and the bonus was the Greek hospitality that we felt from Chrysa and her colleague that both works there 11 years ++ ! I ll definitely go back !
This is my favorite Greek Restaurant in NY. The atmosphere is very friendly and helpful. All dishes are well prepared. The octopus is really soft and the salmon is delicious. For dessert, don't miss the galaktoburiko.
