The staff and atmosphere was absolutely amazing but the food was out of this world. Very authentic and original. The most flavorful dish I️ have had in ages!!!
Really good food and service. Looking forward to going back and trying other dishes!
Fresh and family style. These guys are more committed to local, quality ingredients than any other restaurant in the county. And their low-key passion for their business comes through in the ambiance and service. A true gem.
Got the braised pork, love the cozy atmosphere and it feels and tastes as close to Italy as you'll find in Humboldt.
Fantastic wine menu! The new takeout format works well and the menu has changed to more rapidly respond to orders. This is for the best because the historical slow-quality approach worked when eating in, but wasn't as effective for takeout. The owners are happy to discuss the menu items in detail, help you craft your dining experience, and advise on wine to pair.
Terrific dishes, made by someone who obviously loves food for people who also love food. This is a gem, a little place with a small variable menu where the owner lovingly describes everything you order. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back.
Best Italian in Humboldt. Menu changes every week with great vegetarian and omnivore options. The focaccia is incredible.
Absolutely a gem.
This place offers no-frills high quality food offered in a comfortable family-style atmosphere.
I try to eat here as often as possible. (Hint- it's all about the smokey eggplant or the carbonara!)
I love that they use organic ingredients and source from the farmers market which is something no other restaurants really do (except Brio in a token way and Cafe Phoenix)
My most indulgent moments are when I get the carbonara to go and eat it sprawled out in my livingroom!
Thank you La Trattoria for all the love you pour into your food and this community!
We had a lovely experience here for dinner. I wouldn't say it was super authentic, but the dishes celebrate the flavors of real food, using high quality ingredients. Most of the pastas are handmade and the one we tried was excellent. The salad was fantastic. We had the local Winnett chardonnay which was awesome. My complaint is they didn't seem to understand the concept of a spaghetti carbonara, but hey, that sauce is not easy to achieve. :)
likely subsidized by tax dollars. "local" is 'code' for "can't compete in the market place of ideas and goods & services". Why? Usually: Poison. If the fresh raw vegetables don't taste good, Then; Either it is one's palate. Or, Then; It is the farmer's use of poisonous practice. Good flows to good.
Just moved to Humboldt from Brooklyn a few months back, and so far this has been the best, most authentic Italian place I've been to out here. Go somewhere else if you want tons of jarred ragu tomato sauce on a lb of reheated barilla, cause this place doesn't do American Italian - this place understands real Italian food.
The pasta was fresh and delicate. The ingredients weren't overbearing, but were simple and good quality and deliberate, how Italian cooking should be. You're gonna get olive oil with your bread, vinaigrette with your salad, and cheese all over your pasta. The place is super understated and quaint, but they were attentive and charming. Wine list was great. Will definitely be a regular.
Food is authentic and fresh. It's also mostly locally sourced. Service is perfect! I love this place. Homemade pasta is undeniable. And the panna cotta is to die for, if it's on the menu.
Hands down the best restaurant in Humboldt. Always amazing. Italian masterpieces with local fresh ingredients. Love this place!
