The Stone Yard - Appleton

There are some decent options in the menu. Pulled pork had decent flavor but was a bit dry. Pizza was pretty good. Decent beer and drink selection. I will probably come back to try some more of their food. Employees were laid back to the point that the service of new customers suffered. Frequent customers will grab their seat, order their food without thinking, laugh and chat to the employees for a while. Meanwhile new customers are standing at the entrance unsure if they can seat themselves, struggle looking through the menu without any recommendations from staff, and sit around waiting to get a refill, box or a check because employees are too busy interacting with other employees or regulars.

I would never go back to this restaurant, which is a shame because it's close to my new home so I anticipated being a frequent visitor. The service was poor and the food was really disappointing. The french onion soup was served without cheese even though the menu said it came with cheese, as french onion soup customarily does. When we asked for cheese the server threw cold shredded cheese on it (without gloves or washing her hands first) and made no attempt to melt it. We asked for it to be melted they insisted this was the way its supposed to be served and refused to melt it. It was honestly disgusting and when we asked to just skip the soup we were informed we could eat it or not but we'd be charged either way. Seriously the worst customer service ever and they shouldn't have items on the menu if they don't know how to make them. The rest of the food was subpar too. We specifically asked for the wings to be saucy and our server assured us they already come super saucy. Yet when they came out they were totally dry, it was seriously a joke. We paid for an entire meal but ate almost none of it because it was just garbage. There are so many better options, just skip this one.

Stopped in on a whim one evening for our first time, just to have a few drinks. We sat ourselves at a table in front of the bar and waited a solid 5 minutes before we started scanning the room. The staff was chatting it up with the regulars at the bar, one even went and sat with a group at the end of the bar while we continued to wait. They saw us walk in and walk directly in front of the bar, and finally after almost 10 minutes we left. Perhaps the staff should try to take care of all customers to try and obtain more regulars... There were at least 3 people working and the place wasn't even very busy. I won't go in again which is unfortunate because I recently moved nearby.

We keep giving Stone Yard chances, and they continue to drop the ball. The wrap was basically all lettuce, and the chips were over-salted. These are basic dishes that a dining establishment should be able to nail. We used to really like this place, but the quality has gone downhill significantly in the past few months.
