Smallcakes

Super cute little shop that's full of deliciousness! I tried one of their small cakes smashes.. YUM! Perfect blend of cake and creamy icecream. I also succumbed to temptation and purchased 6 additional cupcakes to dig into another time! And they aren't the tiny ones many bakeries sell, these are good sized and tons of toppings!

I've had so many, so many cupcakes in my life, including ones from heralded bakeries featured on TV shows. I love a good cupcake with a delicate crumb, frosting that's not cloying, flavors that amaze. Found it here at Smallcakes! The cupcake itself has very light crumb that's like this perfect middle ground between pound cake and traditional sponge, lightly sweet and balanced. I couldn't believe how delicate it was, it's honestly my fave feature from these cupcakes. The flavors are fresh and the frosting looks as good as it tastes.

A dainty, franchised, cupcakery. Generally I find these to be too expensive and this one is but we had a buy one get one free so I figured we would give it a try. We tasted the birthday and peanut butter cupcakes. While the birthday was bursting with flavor I felt the peanut butter cup cupcake was a bit lackluster. Both were incredibly fluffy, like biting into a cloud of sugar. The buttercream frosting is intensely rich. Service was decent. One was welcoming and the other just acted kinda snobby.

I was looking for a bakery to make 180 cupcakes for our wedding reception this June and I was pleased by the up-front clear pricing that Smallcakes advertised on their website. I reached out to a few other bakeries and soon realized that at $3/cupcake, Smallcakes was also the best deal compared to some of the other bakeries that ended up being $4-$5/cupcake. I ordered S'Mores cupcakes and had my mother pick them up the day of our reception. W.O.W. these cupcakes were one of the best parts of the reception, everyone complimented them. They were also HUGE! That would be my only complaint is that they were too big you had to eat them with a fork! So delicious, the cream topping was amazing. We froze our extras. I'd recommend fully thawing any frozen extras to re-experience the great frosting experience to it's full potential.

We heard about this new little gem and decided to give it a go! Turns out it was their soft opening. We had the Cookie Monster, Red Velvet and Almond Joy ice creams. All amazing! Creamy and delicious. The Cookie Monster and Red Velvet had fresh baked goodies mixed it! Brought home the Hot Fudge Sundae cupcake for the hubby and it was incredibly fresh, moist and tasty. We will be back!
