Caffe Positano

Very good atmosphere, it feels like you are indeed in an Italian restaurant. Staff is very nice. The pasta is very tasteful and of a big portion. The pizza is okay, the ingredients are def fresh but it can definitely use a little more tomato sauce (un po' di più di passata di pomodoro). The dough reminds me more of a NY style crust rather than an Italian one. My favorite part is that they sell some of their items to the public. The strawberry tiramisu is delicious as well as the lentils soup (minestra di lenticchie).

This was my first time at Positano’s. I will definitely be back. We started with the mussels for an appetizer. The mussels were cooked perfectly with the right amount of garlic and seasoning in the sauce. I then ordered the chicken Gorgonzola and my with had the warm chicken salad. The Gorgonzola sauce was amazing and chicken was cooked just right. My wife’s warm salad was out of this world. I’m not a salad person but couldn’t stop eating her salad. LOL The service was spot on for a Saturday night. We also had a bottle of wine and would of had desert, but we’re too full from dinner. We could only eat about half of our meal. Have another awesome meal left for leftovers. What ever your doing Positano you are doing it right. I will be back and so will my wife.

Decided to try this place since it was close by and I never been before! Everything took long to come out so 20 mins later the bread and appetizer finally came and how am I suppose to eat with no fork and knife? Just my hands? So my friend had to ask for utensils! Then I ordered a blueberry mojito then they tell me they have no blueberries so they can try putting blueberry vodka instead to substitute with the rum I tried it and didn’t like and it was too strong for me so end up ordering just a regular mojito instead. The antipasto wasn’t what I was expecting I thought it was gonna be a salad underneath but looked more like a charcuterie board so that was disappointing! Only good thing was my Hawaiian pizza that I enjoyed.

I’ve heard such good things about this place so I figured I would give them a try. Really wish I did not. I ordered a pizza, and some cheese sticks. The cheese sticks tasted like they were right out of the freezer. The pizza wow! I can honestly say it was probably one of the worst pizzas I have ever ate. It was soggy, and something was off with the taste. I don’t even think my trash can enjoyed it. Maybe they have other things that taste good, but I will never know, because I will never spend another dollar here…

Service was a tad prolonged...not that busy in the so called "fine dining" side. Serving water is a nice touch...but in Florida you need ice...sodas and lemonade served in tacky plastic. Veal was good...Ahi tuna was kind of disappointing...minimalist. Some chopped fresh herbs...Parsley even would have dressed up the veal. On the plus side the guitarist was very good...will come back but not for the "fine dining"...the bar and Cafe were getting the attention

Just had one of their pizzas and cannot express my disappointment. A year ago they had the best around. No longer! Today’s pizza had almost no sauce and was flavorless. There was something “off” with the cheese. Not the same consistency as before. They also used canned mushrooms. Canned mushrooms on a $20 pizza!! When I called about it the reply was that they use canned unless you ask for fresh. Really?!?! There is a place I’ve considered second rate locally. They have now moved up to my top spot. Goodbye Positano!

Very clean restaurant with excellent service and friendly staff. I got the Kobia special with pasta. I was expecting more flavor, it was on the bland side. The cesear salad dressing tasted more like Italian dressing, I did not care for it, my husband ate his. The rolls could of been softer but were good. My husband got the new York strip, he said it was cooked perfect but could of been more tender.
