Nice little place to hang out with friends and listen to the band. Band is not that loud, and you can still carry on with a conversion with your friends without yelling at each other.

Omg! A really great surprise! Loved the outside seating with all the lights. Band "Innocent Joe" was super. Food was really amazing...not your typical bar food. Highly recommend!

Returned a few nights ago for our Anniversary dinner, and had the mahi-mahi, smashed smoked potatoes and brussels sprouts. The food was absolutely on point! Not greasy and grilled and so full of flavor. The beers were ice cold and their selection of IPA was really awesome. Hadn’t been here in a minute, but vowed to return more frequently, even after all these years, I was still pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Good to know about the call ahead option, also, it was pretty crowded, but I love how they don’t crowd the tables too close together, and you have lots of space. The service, even with how busy it was, was phenomenal. Was so happy with our experience. It prompted me to come back and write another review. We’ve been coming to this place since it opened pretty much and they have really put a lot of time, love and energy into making this a great place to eat. We are happy it is so close to home.
So many people complain about the fact that they don’t have french fries, if you want french fries call across the street to Burger King and clog your arteries. I love the healthier options here with the grilling, their menu is online, so look at it before you come. I thought their smoked potatoes were amazing.

This is a fun place to visit, and it is definitely different from the typical bar and grill. They have a great draft beer selection, so I had a selection to choose from. Also, there's live entertainment that wasn't so loud so we were able to have a nice conversation. The food is delicious, and we loved the selection of side dishes. Excellent service, we will be back!

The food was pretty good. My steak was not the best, as it had no flavor, and it was very rare, though I ordered it medium. I just doused it with salt and didn’t look at it until it was gone. The grilled red potatoes were amazingly delicious. I have never tasted anything like that. My kids even loved them. My wife’s nachos were not that good. my daughters hamburger was really good, but it was pretty rare inside. She could not eat most of it. My son’s pulled pork sandwich was pretty good. The barbecue sauce was exceptionally good. Every server I saw had a smile and was very friendly. They have customer service down to a science. They greeted everyone they saw. The band was a two-piece group that was pretty good; they entertained the crowd and were very friendly. Will we return? Probably not. It is VERY expensive!

I'm giving 4 stars because I wish it was bigger and had more seating! Lots of smoked dishes and tasty eats on the food menu, something for everyone here. The mead, beer, cider and wine menus are extensive. I love how I can try so many different things here. Staff is always happy to see you. Such a treasured local spot.

We just moved here and love this place! Our Ubers are only $7, the place is a lot of fun, great service and selection of beer, and the backyard is amazing. We go at night (even during the summer) and it’s not too hot. The live bands are a must :)
I’m a vegetarian and love this menu; there’s actually tofu and plenty of vegetarian options. (Salmon, too.) But if you aren’t a vegetarian, the menu’s quality and selection is impressive. I heard the burgers are really great!

My husband, son and I visited this spot from SWVA. I can honestly say the food is great, and the wait staff is fantastic! April took great care of us, and Richard kept stopping by as well. I believe we were the only non- locals, but everyone in there greeted us with a warm smile, gave us suggestions on places to visit, and danced with my son(who has a disability and dancing is his favorite thing to do). We greatly appreciated the hospitality, and I hope we’ll go back again.

Woah! How beautiful is this!?!
I was surprised by how big this venue really was. I can't just label it as a bar that would not do any justice. I would definitely recommend this as a place for a large gathering, but honestly the service is so darn good I'd recommend it for any occasion. They regularly have a live band, tons of space for your own gathering and a full kitchen. We did not eat here but I can definitely recommend that you're not just getting bar food here.

For ambiance, this place is number one, if you're looking for steak, brew and a live band. On this chilly night, they had fire pits in the middle of each of the tables, even for those who are waiting for a table for dinner. We enjoyed sitting outside where there were umbrellas even though the patio is covered. I noticed that if it had been a warmer evening, they had a misting system throughout. I was told by the well-caring staff that there is live entertainment every night. The cocktails were reasonably priced. The food was a little pricey, but unique. The salad was a little too green for my taste, but the grilled zucchini, peppers, and onions were delicious! We did not care for the pretzels and pizza cheese sauce? I wish we would have tried the Super Nachos instead.

So good, worth the wait. We went for rib night but most of us ended up ordering off the menu the menu because all of their regular menu options were so appealing! Their side dishes are super unique and fresh (like acorn squash with maple and pecan, or zucchini with roasted peppers and onions) and everything was well priced. We had a bunch of different beers, a few by the pint and a few in a flight, all of which were great. They were sold out of a few that we requested for our second flight, but the waitress filled in with her faves, and they were all excellent. Do beware that they don’t serve cocktails - only beer and wine. If you’re looking for a mixed drink, go elsewhere! Over all - the ambience is great, all staff were excellent, and the food was to die for. Great place for a night out ! Will be back next time we’re in town !

Just had to offset the negative review and boost the number of stars for this FANTASTIC restaurant. The first time I came here was on a blind date, chosen because it was halfway between us AND chosen completely at random. What a pleasant surprise. The review I read, on the fly that evening, said "best kept secret in Apache Junction," and I have to agree. That was two years ago. I have come a handful of times since...and would come weekly if it were closer to home. The food is really really good. Service has always been superb...and...do you love beer variety? Wow! I count 27 on tap tonight. And did I mention, they have live music? Nice.<br/>All I can say is, make the trip, it's so worth it!

A Bit Disappointing. The great reviews on Urbanspoon prompted us to give it a try this afternoon. The place was a little small and dumpy looking, and the lock on the ladies room didn't work. It definitely could use some fresh paint in something other than beige! We tried the wild mushroom appetizer, which was bland at best (no salt - none). On the plus side, my partner enjoyed his beer and the waiter was quite friendly and attentive. We might give it another shot if the bluegrass band decides to play. Overall, though, it was disappointing!

This place is INCREDIBLE!. I had heard about the Handlebar Pub from one of my co-workers and she was spot on. First of all, the outside of the establishment is very deceiving. Do not let this deter you from the amazing food and ambiance this place has to offer. When you walk in the front door you are greeted by friendly employees AND patrons. It is a modern, well decorated bar but this is just the beginning. THE FOOD IS AMAZING! The stuffed pepper appetizer (with smoked pork, monterey jack cheese and a chipotle sauce) has so much flavor. We ordered a 2nd one after eating the first (split between 3 people). For dinner my husband ordered a steak that was cooked to perfection - medium rare and my friend and I both had burgers. They were incredible as were the sides of bleu cheese potato salad and walnut bleu cheese coleslaw. The craft beers were refreshing and Dustin our bartender was willing to let us sample anything we wanted - try the apricot hefeweizen - YUM. We will definitely be back - we have got to try the smoked chicken wings on Tuesday nights. Go check it out - You will not be disappointed.

First time at The Handlebar. Parked in a packed lot, had a little trouble finding the front door (it's on the side), and made our way to the only empty table in the place. We weren't familiar with several of the beers on tap, so the server brought samples - a nice touch. Ordered a prime rib and the smoked chicken salad. Both were excellent. The live musicians were just setting up as we finished, so we stayed for the first couple of songs.<br/><br/>All in all, we enjoyed the food and music, and we'll be back.

Why would you bring kids to a BAR?. I had an amazing dining experience, every time we've gone. They have a wonderful selection of beer and have great food to pair it with. It is on the more expensive side but it's completely worth it. The chefs do a great job and if you are looking to save all you need are a few appetizers to really fill you up. I would reccomend this place but I already enjoy the local atmosphere so much that it's like the locals little secret. Music, beer, great food, what else do you need? Also, it is a bar, so please, leave your kids at home<br/> Seriously.

Not worth the money. First visit the steak was so CHEWY, that neither myself or my partner could chew it. Asked for it rare and was disappointed in the temp. The salad sucked, the ribs were overcooked, and the chicken panini was so dry. Decided to give it a second try and wasn't surprised by the disappointment AGAIN. I don't think the cook (won't call them chefs by no means) knows what rare temp is. The only good things about the place is the music and outside dining. Not family friendly AT ALL. Price is $8-14, dollars and not much choices, especially if you are a child. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. What a disappointment
