Steak 'n Shake

Happy to see that they reopened this place. MUCH MUCH BETTER than before! There is a very nice and SUPER polite young man named Jacob who took my order earlier today. I was shocked at how pleasant and engaged he is in his work! I don't normally have the best experiences at fast food places so I just had to do a reveiw in this case. Thank you Jacob! Steak N Shake made a VERY GOOD move in hiring him! 😁

Ordered in the app. Said Status: In progress. Then it changed to status: completed. Took money out of my account already and everything. Drove the 2 minutes from my friends house to pick up our order. No one is there. All the lights were on. No posted CLOSED signs? Just an open till 12am 7 days a week… Yet doors were locked. No body there. While trying to call the store and any numbers I could find associated with Steak ‘n Shake customer service MANY cars came and went. A few were food delivery service workers. Another man had ordered through the app as well. This is everything terrible from bad management to bad service and in between. Not only that it was my last 20$ till payday and they took that right out of my account (pending) where I could not even cancel the order, have my money returned or anything… couldn’t even at least be able to go somewhere else. Will be returning tomorrow and I want answers and an apology. I don’t even want their food anymore. Unacceptable. Do not order from the app! Go first, because it WILL take your money & not anyone will even be there.

Chain burger joint that I’ve been to in a couple of states and am usually impressed by quality. Ordered a garlic cheeseburger with fries and the flatmate got a triple with cheese and cheese fries. The burgers were good, juicy and mine was garlicky, salty and buttery. They were squashed though. Rammed into a bag, under fries and wrapped in wax paper with no rigidity. If the bag is that full, use a second. That said, good burgers and crisp fries, pleased with eats and I’d go back. Here’s the breakdown: Hot fresh and juicy burger +1 star; crisp, salty and fresh fries +1 star; fast and friendly service +1 star; plentiful cheese sauce +1 star; better then average fast food +1 star; smashed food -1 star.

First time to experience the order only from the computer touch screen in the store. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! TERRIBLE IDEA . Food & shake great as always. Had to ask for a spoon napkin and ketchup from one of the cooks. Had to later go behind counter myself for a fork as I could not get anyones attention. This system needs help, maybe visit your competition for some ideas. Chick F L

very very rude. i brought my receipt up because they forgot my tomato and cheese sauce there was one single dot of ketchup on the burger so i brought up the receipt to ask for more and was very polite and some girl started shouting that “today was not her day i need to get out of here with all the extraness” not a single person in here was friendly. all the tables were dirty and the roof is leaking. seriously needs shut down

This was the worse visit that I have ever had at this place! Use to be a fan and supporter but not anymore! Those kiosk machine that they got set up in there are there to rip off the customer. I ordered a $3.99 meal& a shake and was charged $7.63, but the catch is I never got the shake, and the manager explanation was that the kiosk kicked out my order for the shake, but yet it still charged me $7.63 for a $.3.99 meal without a drink! BEESTE!!!
