El Azteca

This is a favorite Mexican restaurant of mine. We appreciate the friendly service of the staff and appreciate the extensive and authentic menu. We the often sit in their parking lot patio when it is warm enough to dine outside. The Texas Fajitas are a wonderful menu item - they must have a really hot griddle because the shrimp, chicken and beef are always seriously seared.

Chicken is so diced up into fragments for the fajitas it ruins the dish. My guacamole came out brown and only about 1 Teaspoon with my salad. The rice was crunchy and dried out two days in a row. I ate the same dish 3 days in a row here due to lack of other choices nearby and I like Mexican for lunch. Everyday the chicken was diced up to tiny thrashed up pieces and therefore dried out and overcooked. One day the chips are warm the next day cold. I felt like I was eating leftovers from the day before. I do not recommend.

The food here is reasonably priced and tasty. The food always comes quickly and I have had good experiences with the service. I have been eating here for about a decade and can't think of a bad experience. The food is not going to wow you but it is a good value for the money and the atmosphere is comfortable.

I googled for a close by mexican restaurant, and was led here. I started out being impressed with how quickly I was served. After quickly finishing the tasty salsa, I waited for a refill, only to find my server never returned, not even to pick up my check. I walked to the front register paid and left for good. That pretty much told me where I stood. Suffice it to say, I've made my last visit to El Azteca! UPDATE The Owner made a personal call to me, which I was impressed because it seemed he cared. No one can control every employee at all times. Admittedly the food was good, just couldn't get any service. I'm going to chalk it up as the exception and not the rule, so I'll try them again. UPDATE I made a return visit, and everything was great from the food to the service! Hats off to the ownership for valuing customer service! I plan to eat there fairly regularly.

Five of us went out for lunch during a very busy time of day. Despite being short staffed and completely full of diners, we managed to get a table quickly. Our orders got taken promptly and our food came faster than I imagined it would. Everything was correct with all of our orders and the service was attentive. The food was good and the cheese dip was outstanding. We will definitely be back.
