Quick service, exceptional eats, plenty of free parking, gives you the strength to make it through the second half of your day, or take on at least 10 lucha libre fighters! What more could you ask for? I was tempted not to write a review for fear of letting the word out, but if you don't know by now, this review probably will never find you. P.S. make sure you tip-don't be a douche.
Consistently great.. Oscar's is one of the only places in Anchorage you a can count on for a quality meal every time. Been eating here since the 80s and can say for sure that They are doing it right. Fresh, hot, simple mexican food. Not processed crap like you get elswhere.

This is one of those times.... ...when I wish I could give a sideways thumb. I think Oscar's services its market perfectly - fast Mexican food for a mostly male crowd. My kiddo and I used to LOVE this place (about 3 years ago) until my daughter went in on her own to order one day. She was given $20 to pay for 2 burritos. She got $10 back in change, which she unflinchingly tossed into the tip jar. Well, this should have been a red flag to most honest business folk. I mean, she was only 9 and didn't understand the whole tipping concept. The young man thanked her, gave her her food and she was on her way back to the car. When she told me that he didn't even ask if 'that was OK with your parents', I got out of my car, seriously irritated, and went in to ask for my $10 back. He had nothing to say. Well, needless to say, we stopped going there. Until the other day. I figure 3 years is long enough to withhold my business. The food is still good. I have to say though, it still nags me that this establishment felt it was OK to take advantage of a little girl's kindness.

I eat here at least once a week. The guys are friendly, always get your order right, and the most important part: THIS IS THE BEAT MEXICAN FOOD IN TOWN! Gallo/burrito King, LaMex, Arcos, any everyone else just needs to give up and try to franchise Oscar's.
Make sure you bring cash when you come though, there is no check or credit card accepted.
Love this place!! Drove by a few times wondering about it until someone recommended it. So glad I went for it. Food is prepared when ordered right there and the prices are super cheap!! Nowhere to sit down, this more of a take with you kinda lunch place. It's gooood!!
Awesome. As a student at UAA taking classes in the Aviation Technology building, I'm always longing to eat something beyond Taco Bell and Wendy's on 5th Avenue. After reading about Taco Grande on Urbanspoon, I decided to check it out impulsively. Thank God I did! The food here is shockingly cheap and the portions are generous as well. You definitely gotta try their hard shell tacos. If you want delicious Mexican food without the frills then this is your kind of place.
Oh my god it's finally happened. The best burrito in anchorage resides here. i won't eat mexican anywhere else. insanely affordable, creative, and delicious. if you want real, high-quality mexican without all the bells and whistles, then this is your place.
Yup! Make it a point to stop here. Husband and I got just the tacos, mine chicken hardshell, his steak flour. Tasty, hot, good hot sauce, just good!

Amazing breakfast burritos that are fairly priced and quite delicious!!! Go to spot for a quick breakfast on the go heading into work!!!!
Stumbled upon this establishment while out walking and so happy I stopped in. Enjoyed two perfectly sized breakfast burritos; one sausage and one bacon. Often a breakfast burrito is almost too large and requires utensils, but these were easy to eat and no mess. The price was also outstanding at $4.50 each I believe. A cash only establishment so the owner isn’t forced to absorb any credit card fees and simply provides a good meal. I will return at some point to try out some other menu options.
Order the chicken burrito and it was delicious. I should’ve taken a pic before hand but I was hungry lol. Also it’s cash only.
Discovered this place from friends, now I go every Monday for lunch. Everything is good, but soft and crunchys are my favorite. Friendly staff and fast service, definitely worth a visit :)
