So glad we made the walk to Union Tavern after a night at the Majestic Inn. We didn't want a menu full of friedness, weren't in the mood for Mexican (a rarity for us), and were looking for fresh oysters which surprisingly we couldn't find anywhere without heading to the chain restaurant nearby. Union Tavern didn't necessarily have the fresh oysters we were hoping for but had oyster shooters which were close enough!
We walked into a busy outdoor patio, a few tables of 2-4 inside, and a few sprinkled bartop. Rachel the bartender was running an amazing one woman show with style and grace! We ordered a Wander Raspberry Sour and a hand crafted spicy margarita, both were the refreshments we needed stepping in from a hot day. First round of shooters were impressively stocked with diced cucumbers, capers and a little heavy on the cocktail sauce, but still good. Second round we ordered minus the cocktail sauce and used the first servings left overs. We also ordered the meatloaf burger, sooooo much better than it sounds, and a seafood chowder. Everything was delicious!
Bathrooms were clean, ambiance was comfortable with soft string lights throughout. Great spot for a TON on tap, from ciders, sours to, IPAs and then some.

The Meatloaf is their signature dish. Thr waitress said some prople come and if it is sold out, they leave.
It was great as were the smashed potatoes, as I think they refer to them.

I love this place. First off, the bartenders were also running food and they were killing it. Seriously fantastic staff. The beer selection is awesome and I love that you can order a 20 or even 34 oz beer. Food was tasty, and I tried a pickled egg for the first time and even liked that. I will be going here a lot.

My family and I took a mini vacation to Anacortes this past weekend and we found this awesome restaurant! I'm including two pictures wish I had more but this stew they had which is like an Irish stew was Freaking fabulous! Meat, potatoes, carrots- delicious. The servers were very responsive and friendly. The food came out quickly, the atmosphere was great we had a wonderful table front window by the sidewalk, just a perfect night. I thank them so much even though they were all just doing their jobs. When we return to Anocortes we will definitely be coming back to this restaurant and I advise everyone else to do the same. It is not a huge restaurant so I would get in there early for dinner maybe 5:00 or 6:00.

My sweetie & I came to Union Tavern for brunch it was delicious as always and the service was excellent.
When we arrived we were welcomed immediately, asked to find a seat and was told by the bartender/server she would be with us.
Service is everything without good service we won’t take the time to find out if the food is good or not.
I am impressed with the level of service our server gave us, the Tavern was busy and filled up as we sat there, as guests continue to arrive the server/bartender was attentive and welcoming.
The food was great, the service was excellent.
Thanks for an amazing dining experience.

Overall, decent experience here. The chicken pot pie was great and I’d come back just for that. The only two complaints I had were: (1) they gave us chicken instead of beef on the nachos and (2) I noticed that we probably would’ve been checked in on more if we sat inside versus outside.
Again, I’d probably go back but just minor things.

Lunch at the Union Tavern was great. Good atmosphere, friendly service, and most of all, great food. My chili dog was a work of art. While I had lunch here, I can imagine that it would be a great place for drinks and dinner in the evening.
