Such an authentic place! Loved everything from the texan interior, to the really nice staff to the of course perfect BBQ choices! The meat was really juicy (even the turkey, which is so often way to dry), the Mac and Cheese creamy and the rips perfectly seasoned. The experience was overall amazing! I can only recommend it!
This is a cozy, log cabin style, laid back BBQ joint. You order at the counter when you walk in and your food is served at the end of the counter. You pay prior to leaving the building as the exit is situated after the payment line, somewhat inconvenient if you have people in your party that are not paying because they have to go through the line to be able to exit. The food is fabulous, I had the shredded beef potato and it was huge...making more than one meal for me. The prices are good, the military discount is per person, not per check. We had to show both show our military IDs although we were on the same check. We will be back.
Who would have thought the best fried shrimp in Texas would be found at a BBQ restaurant?? Seriously, I was blown away not only by how light and crispy the batter was, but also the size of the shrimp. I live quite some distance from this location, but will not hesitate to make the drive when I’m in the mood for some good fried seafood! Kudos to the fry cook!!!

I was a little confused about the paying process so here’s some info:
You get your food and you’ll get your food tray, you pay when you exit. They will stamp your receipt once you get your choice of bread, go for the jalapeño cornbread.
The pinto beans were surprisingly tasty, I had the beef ribs and will probably get them again.
Kudos to Olga for taking such good care of the tables.

On arrival to the parking lot I could smell the barbecue and it had my mouth watering immediately. The restaurant was very friendly and welcoming. This barbecue joint featured juicy charcoal grilled burgers and the pork ribs were the best I've had in Houston so far. The brisket was perfectly seasoned and retained its moisture and smokey flavor. I love the fact that the food was not overly salty or overly seasoned. There was great balance between the seasoning and the smokiness of the barbecue. The price was reasonable and you got great portions of the food.
The theme of the restaurant is very country/hunting themed with two stories of dining area.
Or server Angelica, was phenomenal... She was courteous, attentive, offered great recommendation for food or ordering and the most sunny disposition of a server I had seen in a long time. She is a breath of fresh air to this restaurant and adds to the ambience of the restaurants brand.
I am definitely going back and bringing more family with me.

Yeah it's that good. We were there with a large group and the staff was very very helpful and friendly. It's what's expected from good BBQ and comfort food.
Staff was extremely helpful. I got to go but I liked the place so much I have to go back and dine in. The BBQ was top notch, some of the best I've ever had in the Houston area. Pretty close to Terry Blacks IMO. I saw a couple get the fish and, oh boy! I'll be coming back to have that!! Nice size parking lot. Place was super clean.

The food is very good. I especially like their fried shrimp, their cheeseburgers, which are very good, and their barbecue brisket. I’ve got a friend who doesn’t like their barbecue sauce, but I think it’s pretty good. You have to wait in line to place your order and then go pick it up yourself but other than that they have pretty good service. It is usually very crowded when we go and so it’s kind of noisy but it is a nice clean place with nice people.
