Plantation Italia

My wife of Italian heritage loved this place when we first found it two years ago. Because of her cancer fight, we didn't make it back for over a year but when we did, Bill and Diane recognized her by name. Just from one visit. If you don't enter this place with a sense of familia, you may not have the same experience as those of us who do (judging by some of the Yelp reviews I've read. All I know is these people and their food is as authentic and homemade as you'll ever find... it's Italian family food. My brother-in-law from Wisconsin went overboard with what we bought to feed his other 4 brothers and my wife this past weekend - lasagna, meatballs, and 2 loaves of Italian bread. It was magnificent.

This store sells prepared food, sandwiches, and Italian groceries. Their prepared food is excellent. When I go there, I usually buy several dishes, which I then freeze. They are tasty, stand up well to freezing/reheating, and they are truly Italian style. Their groceries are top quality. It is the only place I have found were I can find some authentic cheeses and various types of prosciutto (Prosciutto cotto is my favorite, I have never found it anywhere else around Atlanta). If you like Italian food, highly recommended.
