Restaurant Holmes is serving up unique small plates with local fresh ingredients, a seasonal menu, and craft beverages in the iconic "The Jones House" in Alpharetta. Per sign in 1914: " 'The Jones House', a craftsman style home was built for Will Jones and his wife May Jackson Jones at a cost of $515.00....In July, 2018, Restaurant Holmes opened in Jones House becoming the City Center's development's first tenant to open." I loved the sunny porch, the large floor to wall mural of the wolf, and the "keep the vibes" fluorescent neon sign which made the perfect photo op. There was also an orange statue of Buddha that you can rub for good luck and an out-of-this-world "To Mars" panel art. One thing that was really cool were the ice cubes that were engraved with "Holmes".This would be a great spot for a cozy date night or family get-together.
What I tried at Restaurant Holmes. I had a cocktail called "Pretty in Pink" which had gin, bergamot, hibiscus, citrus, and bubbles. Then "Big Willy" poured up with bourbon, passionfruit, and citrus. Next, it was time for Staples (Appetizers) and I went with the brussels sprouts that had Korean barbecue sauce, creme fraiche, toasted seeds, and chives. The brussels sprouts were really yummy mixed with the Cacio e Pepe, handmade noodles, parmesan and cracked black pepper. Then was time for the Proper Entrees and I went for the Game Hen served with mushroom risotto and pan gravy. I also tried the Hanger Steak which was eight ounces and wood-grilled with a beer marinade paired with a carrot puree, broccolini, and crispy garlic.

The drinks are always tasty. They're not overly alcoholic though. The octopus and corn (shown here) have not been my only flavorful options and I would recommend this place again. The vibe here is fun and whimsical but the bar is a little too cramped and doesn't seem as inviting as most places.

Beautiful big patio and EXCELLENT service!! Don was very attentive and friendly. The drinks are excellent & strong, but a little pricey ($15). We didn’t pay that much for drinks on the rooftop across the street where there’s a better view and in the sun. We were offered a special they had from a party the night before that was “more tender than filet Mignon” (wagyu) but it was very chewy and did not live up to our expectations of what wagyu is. The price is normally $50-60 so $32 was a great price but again it wasn’t impressive. We would come back and try something else in the future since the drinks, patio & service was nice but overall just ok.

We have been to Holmes at least a dozen times; food is always awesome and drinks are amazing. My only concern is that on multiple occasions, the owner/bartender's (I think) children are parked at the bar playing video games. I love kids but not sitting at a bar (where seats are limited to begin with). Totally kills the vibe and not appropriate.

We came in tonight for dinner. I asked our waiter how the old fashioned was hoping for a real answer- he said they were fabulous- they were not. They tasted watered down and had a slight chemical aftertaste. Ok - hoping the food is good. Nope - we ordered the mussels to start - our waiter once again said they were great…they were not. Cold, flavorless and just severely underwhelming. When we told this to our waiter and said we were leaving and not ordering dinner he was rude. No apology, no explanation. We love trying new places and this is one we will not make the trip back to

When we arrived i just felt the GOOD vibe of this place. Music, drinks, awesome, food top notch, it is as good as it could get, prices ..affordable, portions are in the large size (nothing wrong with that 😁), and service was very accomodating and always with a smile.I would say from $$ - $$$, depending on what you order and how specialized is your palete!! They have for all levels. I was realy please and satisfied with thw experience.

Steady Eddie is what I would call them. This, I believe, is my third visit. Sat outside each time, so not sure what the ambiance on the inside is like at all. Food is constantly good; service is consistently good. What's not to appreciate about that? I stuck with just appetizers this time, since I was travelling alone for business. Had the Crispy Octopus and the Cacio E Pepe noodles. Both were very good. The Cacio E Pepe noodles were different, and frankly, delicious.

Reading other reviews about the cocktails was not my experience. The amount of wine is measured in a little carafe for $16. So I ordered a martini and it was served in a glass that used to be a champagne glass in the 40's. I wonder if the bar patrons are served better drinks.
