Cw's Barbeque

Wasn't sure what to expect, read many reviews before hand and many of them were heavily opinionated with in either direction. Not a lot of middle ground, so myself and my family gave it a chance. The "byob" system build your burger was okay. Many people did say that this place had amazing burgers; however, amazing is a but forward. The burgers were good but not amazing. The toppings I order, half of which were forgotten, left a bit to be wanted. The barbecue wings were alright, and the chicken tenders were also good. The price was fair as you would expect from a resturant/hotel. So when many reviews say overpriced, well this isn't also McDonald's. The Buffett was available however a limited selection deterred me from that. Overall pleasant, the staff was amicable, though our waitress seemed to forget we needed our check after she removed our plates from dinner. Not much of a dessert selection unfortunately. Most likely won't return as I have had better experiences elsewhere.

Casual atmosphere, but well-kept and clean. The waiters were very friendly and checked in on us frequently. We started off with a sampler platter, and everything on it was great. We then ordered a pizza, a burger, a garden salad with prime rib, shrimp scampi, and corn chowder soup. Everyone collectively agreed that everything was great, particularly the pizza.

CW's restaurant has really become disappointing. We went there today for Sunday Brunch. The offerings were slim. The presentation was poor. I thought ok, I will settle for blueberry pancakes but they were out of those. They used to have a pretty nice Sunday Brunch and a giant salad bar for lunch and dinner which has disappeared. Even the cleanliness of the place, especially up by the serving bar is questionable. I had a couple of punch cards from the place that had accumulated over $150 worth of punches allowing me a $15 worth of credit. They said they no longer honor them. It's almost like Ramada Inn has no interest in making this as good a restaurant as it once was. Not sure where I will be going in Alpena for Sunday Brunch but it won't be here again.

I suppose it is what should be expected from a hotel restraunt/buffet. The tables were clean. Service was ok, similar to a Shoneys I think. Overall quality of food was awful. Nothing was good, what fresh items were replaced did not aid the quality. Overall the convenience of it being in the hotel does not compensate for the lackluster quality of food.

First time eating here, service good, friendly, fair price, french onion soup very good. Good portion, arrived at 615 just opening, 4 others walked in sat down, left without ordering? Not sure what is going on here. Chicken Marsala was more like chicken piled on mashed potatoes with gravy, not much of a wine taste, will rethink about another visit.
