Review Szechuan Delight - Alexandria

We ordered supper to be delivered to our hotel, The Faimont Marriott accross the street, expecting the standard Chinese food experience. We were pleasently surprised by the speed that it was delivered and how hot the food was. More than that was the great quality of the food and the value per dollar spent. The large hot and sour soup was one of the best we've had; filled with tofu - watercress-green onions- chili peppers and not salty with corn starch thickener. Really delicious. We also had the chicken with vegetables and steamed rice combo that came 9with a crunchy fresh spring roll. Both were mouth watering and tasty, again not too salty. Overall very good Traditional American Chinese food that rivals great Chinese food in Montreal. Highly recommend this restaurant. Howard B.

We just moved to the area from Oakton Where we had a Chinese place we liked. The food is betrer here and the customer service is excellent. I will come here alm the time. Great vibe, management is just great.

Ordered the Vegetables fried rice with egg and loved it! It was fast and the menu is affordable. Owners are super friendly as well.

There's a Chinese place I HAVE not ordered from? So, yeah, around 2:30 PM I ordered Sesame Cold Noodle and Chicken with Cashew Nuts. I like both of them and they are kind of hard to mess up. I figured they were a safe way to see how well the restaurant was at preparing Chinese dishes. The order came with steamed rice. They, or their computer, told me the ETA was 3:28 PM. For a place less than 3 miles away - about a 9 minute drive - that seemed like a long time but maybe, I decided, they were covering their butts with the maximum amount of time it could take to deliver the food during rush hour? And there was a storm promised for later in the day? In the end the driver showed up around 3 PM, so yeah, it took about half an hour. He was polite and I have nothing to complain about when it comes to delivery or the time it took. The food smelled great - smelled like popcorn! The Chicken with Cashew Nuts had a lot more variety in the mixture of chicken, cashew nuts, peppers, and other vegetables than most versions of the dish I have had. It was REALLY GOOD! I mixed in the rice to give it some volume. And, yes, the rice was good too. The Sesame Cold Noodle was also good. Not as great as the Chicken dish but better than most to be honest. Came with two forks, two fortune cookies, and a few soy sauce packets but no napkins. I have to say the overall service and food was perfect for the price. 5 out of 5.

Food was delicious, especially their steamed dumplings- a delicacy. Service was great, no complaints!

Honest Review. I just ordered from here today and had the General Tso chicken it was not the best it used to be good but they definitely have changed the formula on how they bread it and cook it. I was very disappointed that I had to pay 20 dollars for this food with the delivery for it to be nasty. I think the bland fried rice they gave with a boat load of onions in it kind of saved the meal . In DC i could get this meal times 2 for what I just paid. I wont be ordering from here again.

Just moved into the area and this is my new favorite Chinese place! The food is amazing and the family who runs it is really nice. This will be my weekly dinner pick up as long as I'm out here!
