Review Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Alexandria

A decent restaurant with decent food. There wasn't a line when I went there but the service was slow. The employees did not seem to work cohesive with each other. As for the food it looked good but the sandwich came out with cold meat and the pulled pork was slightly under seasoned. Could have been the day but a decent restaurant for a decent price. Edit to reply: Employees should be more attentive to customers instead of being on personal phone calls. Meat should be warmed up coming out of plastic bins. If bread can be toasted then meat can be warmed.

Absolutely delicious! Today I ordered the 3-meat platter consisting of: brisket, marinated chicken, pulled pork and it comes with 2 sides rolls. I had the Carolina BBQ sauce (which is a combination of sweet, tangy and a little spice). Bottom line I enjoyed my experience in the establishment as Mrs. Foye and her employees were very nice and engaging. You definitely will get your money worth of food. I will be going back for sure.

Always enjoyed Dickey's in store or carryout after we grocery shopped. This was my second time ordering delivery and it will be my last. Both times we were missing items, this time we were missing a decent amount. Two sides (fries, jalapeno beans), a drink (only drink we ordered), multiple sauces and a corn muffin which we paid extra for....granted it was a fairly large order but come on. It was delivered very quick but I really think they need to do a much better job of reviewing orders. Frustrating when you have people over and you don't get what you paid for.

I hate to leave this review cause this Dickeys has always been my favorite go to as well as my daughter’s fav. However, owner needs to know that my hubby and I attempted to go there about a week ago for dinner. I say attempted only because we ended up leaving before we even had the to opportunity to place our order. Upon entering we were surprised to find that most of the seating inside was still not set up for customers (post Covid). There were about 3 people ahead of us waiting to order. There were 3 employees running things that night. We are not sure why everyone in line was waiting to even place their order? Not really sure what the employees were doing either? It did appear there was one online order picked up while we waited. As we continued to wait in line just to place an dine in order we noticed one female employee with very long hair appear to be checking the food being cooked and her hair was literally hanging down in and around the food that was cooking. She did not have on a hair net nor were her pretty long locks pulled back in a ponytail. That turned us off from eating there more than the slow service. Although it was very slow service that night, only one of the 3 customers ahead of us had been helped as we stood in line for at least 15min just to place an order, it was the hair hanging around the food that we decided we did not want to eat there so we moved on to a different restaurant that night. Sorry Dickeys. Will try again later. Hopefully the restaurant will be back to enough seating for all and employees back on their game. Just wanted you to know.

I flew in today to celebrate my grandpa’s 90th birthday with my family and hit the ground running helping my dad, who’s been organizing a very chaotic family event today, make sure all the moving parts moved in the right directions. He had ordered catering ahead of time, making sure to order extra of certain sides to accommodate the non-meat eater - me. When we picked up our order, he was concerned that there was not enough to go around, and a lovely woman working there whose name I am KICKING myself for not catching offered to add an extra of each of the sides. My dad, stressed from the planning and wrangling, was not quite as please and thank you as he should have been, but she still went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed - which was above and BEYOND!!! Seriously, she needs to be teaching the service & hospitality part of training every time. She was AWESOME!!

The food is amazing but the staff is incompetent and unprofessional. I've literally been told "I tried to get you a gift card at this location 'the one near Wegmans' but the people there got into an argument with each other about whether they had gift cards or not. I left while they were fighting." I tried to order Uber Eats here one time and while the app said "your order is ready to pick up" in reality they had closed shop and locked up early. If you're going to close early, why not cancel the order instead of saying it's ready for pick up? I recommend Dickeys but find another location.

One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've had. It was so tender, not dry at all! Love their bbq sauce as well. Waffle fries were perfectly cooked n seasoned. I will be returning!! I will remember pics next time. It was just so good, I ate it before I cud remember to take a pic **Edit: Remembered pics this time. We had coupons for a free pulled pork sandwhich with a purchase of a large drink. Last time I tried the mild bbq which is good if u don't like much heat but I wanted more kick so I got the spicy bbq sauce this time and it was delicious. Its about the same level of spice as Louisiana hot sauce, so not over powering for me so I cud still taste the food. There's outdoor seating available as well.

Online order wasn’t ready. Said it be ready in 5min. Over 25 minutes for order. Couldn’t order ribs separately online. Called 2 times, nobody answered. Rude customer service. Then come home and all the sides are missing from the 2 for $24 meal!!! Horrible experience and service.

Im very picky on food but the first time i ate here they had me hooked we eat here at this once a week.The nice thing also is your not just a number here they actually remember their customers.I highly recommend giving this place a try you wont regret it �

The food is great but the placement of the menu before you order is in a bad place. Also like other reviewers mentioned, the line communication is sub par.

The experience started out at a "5" with the customer service while taking the order and offering advice on the quantity. The pleasant experience continued when I picked up our order (feed 27). And to top it off, the food was hot AND tasty. Needless to say, our office will be going back to Dickey's Alexandria.

Service was great! Everyone met me with a smile! Food was on point! The beef was very tender & juicy. The most shocking part of it--'I ate all of my veggies! The green beans were AWESOME!
