Review Jimmy John's - Alexandria

UPDATE: Visited again on March 2nd, 2022. Day and night difference from 9 months ago! Super friendly service, very energetic and cheerful. Was greeted from the moment I walked in the door and was very engaged and genuinely happy to interact with me. Sandwich this time came lightning fast, was put in my hand just as I completed payment. THIS is the Jimmy John's "freaky fast" that we all come to expect. Not to mention the sandwich itself was really good (digging the new #7). Great work Carlyle Jimmy Johns! Will not hesitate to come back here again. OLD REVIEW (sometime in 2021): This is the slowest Jimmy John's I have experienced.. I am used to real Jimmy John's thoroughout the Midwest (Indiana, Illinois, etc.) where the sandwiches would literally be handed to you or is ready for you to pick up before you complete your payment, hence the slogan "Freaky Fast". That does not exist here. I waited until over a year's experience at this location before giving up and writing this review, just to make sure this experience isn't an anomalie or due to learning curve. At this location, you can count on waiting at least 3 or 4 minutes after your complete payment until your sandwich is ready. I wish I can say they are understaffed but they seem to be adequately staffed. When I visited, there were 2 people waiting at the register (nobody waiting to order), there was only one person starting the sandwich line and calling out orders (my sandwich was not called to be started until 2 minutes after I completed payment), 2 or 3 other people behind the counter (possibly on the sandwich line), and 1 person doing misc. tasks. Positive stars for staff friendliness and quality of food, both of which seem to be consistent with this location. However, the speed of service is my biggest concern with this location, especially with the high national expectation of the Jimmy John's brand.

I’ve never felt the need to do a review but I ordered online for a pickup order and ended up waiting 45 mins for a Turkey sub. There were several people waiting the same about of time for their orders. The staff was trying but unfortunately they were just extremely unorganized. Two team members just seemed completely lost and lackadaisical. No one greeted any of the customers, no one called out the orders when they were finally ready and my order was not even right. I am not a complainer but this crew needs a manager on site to get them organized and lead them. 5/21/22

Got a turkey sandwich and it tasted like nothing. Very disappointed to have spent $12 for a flavorless meal. Got vinegar and oil added to my sandwich and could barely even taste the vinegar. Was really craving a cold cut turkey sub too. Next time I'm going to Jersey Mike's instead.

Thank you to everyone working today 11/11/21 for helping us fulfill a large lunch order for a training class when the original plan fell apart. The staff quickly prepared, packed and organized our sandwiches and we got everyone feed and through the training session. We appreciate the extra effort at the last minute and will be using this location for future training events!

So it’s Friday, at 4:17pm, there was 2 people in the the store. I pulled on the handle of the door, which was locked and the employees told me they were closed. What gives?

Good food, but long wait for food ordered for pick up on the app

Don’t trust the hours listed on Google or the Jimmy John’s website. This location actually closes at 3:30pm everyday…uh, what? What restaurant closes before peak delivery hours? And this is AFTER the peak of the COVID pandemic, when most other restaurants have resumed normal hours and operations. I don’t get off work until 5:15pm, so I had to order my dinner from the Potbelly’s down the street instead…

Worlds slowest Jimmy John's. I arrived at 11:55am on a Wednesday with no line to my surprise. Sadly it took the cashier about 5 minutes to get my order in the system and another 5 minutes to make it! "Freaky Fast"...far from it. 10 minutes to order and make one sandwich! Never again.
