The customer service was absolutely horrible. We drove from Maryland to try this new restaurant. We love Ethiopian food and we wanted to try a new location. It took us a few minutes to be seated and then we waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. I brushed it off because I figured they were busy, but it seemed as though they were actually ignoring us. When we finally got service, the lamb came out extremely burned and the manager told us that is how it is served. I'm not a chef but I know burnt food when I taste it. I gave them two stars because the sides were good and they give you plenty of Injera, but I feel that if I was of another race I would have been treated very differently.
Update: We've been back several times because we figured the first time may have been a fluke. The service is still extremely slow, but the food is better. We went back because they have a live band on Thursdays and the ambiance is relaxing after a long days work.
The food here is DELICIOUS! It is my new go to Ethiopian establishment. I have been here 3 times and the food hits, despite what I ordered. My only warning to people going, please do not have plans. This place is not a "quick bite". The service is painfully slow, but is worth it. So go with some patience and don't get there starving.
I’ve ordered from this place countless times. Their vegetarian combo and samosas are my favorite. Depending on the day or time, though, the combo varies on what’s included. Either this or the Ethiopian restaurant next to it are the best in the area, hands down. Super affordable too and always busy.
It’s a Great Ethiopian American Restaurant with experience of consistency. The food is so delicious — you want to go back again and again. I’d recommend “Makda special tibs” and “veggie combo”. If you are Ethiopian American and / or Eretrian American or other…… And would like to test both countries origin of food, this is the place.
The owner and the waitresses are very humble and intuitive. A text book of customer service experience.
I ordered takeout through Uber eats. It was the first time I ever tried this place. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions of the food and the injera were generous. Super positive experience, and I plan on showing up in person very soon. If I can't show up in person I will order delivery again. They set the bar high, so I hope I get the same stuff the next time.
Loved this Ethiopian restaurant. A friend and I decided to try this place out after looking at the many reviews, and we were not disappointed!
The food was delicious and cooked to perfection! I would say my favorite of the choices we got was the Awaze Tibs. It's strips of lamb sautéed with onions and peppers. Everything else was great, but the highlight of the meal was definitely the lamb.
The environment was very nice and clean. It's a lot bigger inside than what the outside of the restaurant looks like. It's very modern and clean.
As for the service, I think the staff could've been a little bit more attentive with water refills, but overall the experience was not bad at all.
I'd highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if you're craving Ethiopian cuisine. Solid 4/5 in my books!
A friend and I shared Assa Goulash (salmon) and Awaze Tibs (lamb). They were both wonderfully aromatic and deliciously spicy. I'm not a big fan of injera, so I was really happy that I could order rice as my side. Our server, Ferewine, helped us choose although I'm sure anything we would have ordered would have been a good choice.
