I love this place! The seafood pho is pretty good. I'm not crazy about the imitation seafood in it, but the broth is good. At lunch, I stood up front waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes. They are really busy around noon, so come early or later. Friendly staff. Average value $8-$13 lunch.
Omg, my only regret is not coming here sooner. I have not been blown away by a restaurant in a very long time and this one is worthy of each of its stars.
It's funny. At first my friend complained about the $12 bahn mi (we're used to paying half that, or less.) We figured it had to do with the premium location's rent, the beautiful decor, the immaculate cleanliness or the impressive organization of the establishment. All would have been worthy, sure. And then when the food arrived, it was very clear. Not only were the portions generous, but as abundantly and beautifully presented as the restaurant, itself. The high quality ingredients were so fresh and flavorful, that each bite was - - well - - exciting.
As we got our leftovers wrapped up (1/2 of our respective dishes were sufficient), my friend then concluded that the $12 was a bargain.
Best pho in Alexandria! Excellent flavors all around. Great decor and outdoor seating.
I had a good experience. coming from a Vietnamese background, and having been to many Pho restaurants, I can say this one isn't bad. The decor is nice, the service is good. The price is merely okay but that is because I come from Denver, CO where food is much more affordable. Finally, the bowl of Pho I had was pretty tasty.
I like this place well enough. The broth is just alright and the vegetarian pho will typically have only 3 little pieces of tofu floating around. *shrug, still one of the better pho options in Alexandria. The building itself is very nicely decorated and service is typically very good.
Food was great, however not completely authentic Viet food. The serving size was larger than I expected which is never a bad thing. The ordering process for phở can be confusing if you do not know the ingredients names in English!
Service time was a bit on the slow side but we came in very late during the day so I don't expect this to be a common problem. Be aware that not all waiters understand Vietnamese so be prepared to order in English!
I absolutely love this place! Their vermicelli with chicken and vermicelli with tofu is so good. I occasionally treat myself to one of their Thai iced coffees. It comes in this very tall glass, it looks nice and tastes amazing. I can't say that I've had their pho before, which they are known for - but the few people I brought with me ordered the seafood pho and the beef pho and thoroughly enjoyed it.
