For the maple bacon: made very quickly, fat trimmed off the bacon, and one of if not the best donuts I've had. It was like breakfast in the shape of a donut (minus the eggs).

I am gonna give it a 4, but could argue its a 3. I didn't really enjoy it because of the batter used for the donuts. I prefer a dunking style donut, but these tasted more like a funnel cake batter. But the people I brought really like the place and were shocked on how good the donuts were. So Idk what to make of the place. Give it a shot.

Warm, delicious. Flavors change all the time, but are always able to get your favorites. I had these first in Duck and am so glad I can have a piece of the Outer Banks, whenever I want.

This is beyond thee most sloppy donuts, I have ever seen. Extremely tooooo much Icing🤮🤮. This presentation is horrible. Totally not customer satisfaction. I am very disappointed.

Love these donuts, but I wouldn't recommend their coffee. I ordered a Mocha and Macchiato and they gave me two watery cappuccinos.

Delicious, prep is often pretty messy & not consistent- especially ordering for delivery. If you love fruit flavors this is NOT the store for you - Strawberry drizzle & glaze are EXACTLY the same, I tossed out that donut from my half dozen, it was drowning in sickly sweet pink frosting. Same deal for the Lemon folks! If you like chocolate & other non-fruit flavors this is your shop - happy snacking!

Normally love this place and their donuts, first time at this store. The store was packed with customers and they only had two people working. I felt bad for the staff as the line kept growing. The young ladies working were very pleasant but very slow moving not in pace but because they were clearly overwhelmed by the amount of customers there waiting to order. I personally don't think it should ever be just two employees in this place. The donuts were great but my order was wrong. I ordered a dozen and only received 9 donuts, the young lady quickly fixed it but it was time consuming and backed up the already growing line even more. So this is a management issue, not an employee issue....hire more people!!! Overall the donuts tasted great and my kids loved them(it was their first time) maple bacon was their favorite.

After seeing some negative comments I wanted to talk about my experience!! This place is meant to be enjoyed with others and it's an experience!!! I was in town from NY on Memorial Weekend in May, probably the busiest time of year in VA so close to D.C. It was super busy and that made it even better! It cannot be compared to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts where they have "fast service". That being said the wait was in line but once you order, the donuts are done quickly. They're fresh and hot! It was still delicious after a 6 hr ride back home. The prices are very reasonable for custom donuts and the staff was welcoming!! I highly recommend this place. This is certainly a tourist attraction so there may be a crowd but you will enjoy your order. The icing is still melting and some of the toppings are sliding off!! So good!!!! Plus, you will get a great shot for social media if that's your thing! #MapleBacon #LemonCoconut #NomNomNom #DuckDonuts lol.

If management is going to decide to leave the store grossly understaffed, at least pick staff who have some degree of understanding of the job, alertness, and interest in customer service. A remarkably poorly run shop and a stunningly dissatisfying experience - no donut is worth this. I'm anxious to see what new business opens up here in 6 months.

After hearing we had a Duck donuts new to the neighborhood, I woke up early to get donuts for the kids as a treat for breakfast. Girls woke up and decided to come with me. It was supposed to open at 6. Got there at 6:35 and it was closed. At 6:45, some employees unlocked the door, let themselves in, and locked the door again. 6:50 - they put up a handwritten sign noting they wouldn't open until 8! Score one for Sugar Shack.

Donuts were very tasty and being able to customize your donut was fun. Fresh donuts and decent prices. The only downfall is that it was a bit of a line to wait for the donuts. Totally worth it though.

I have visited this place three times to buy items for my office in the last year since it opened and it has not improved. Poor customer service, poor quality donuts every time. Sadly, I know this isn't the norm for Duck Donuts. Too bad the franchise closest to my home is so poorly operated. Beware! Go find another store, don't come to this one.

Kids approve. Usually they will just eat frosting from chain donut shops. They eat entire donuts from this shop, only reason for not being 5 stars is been to other specialty places with extreme donuts.

This was my first time at any Duck Donuts establishment and I wanted to come in and try them and also place a large standing weekly order for business. When I walked in at 7:45pm last night, the young man behind the counter looked back and flung his head back. He was clearly irritated that a customer had walked in 15 minutes before closing time. I placed my order with the young lady at the register. She was very nice with assisting me with the menu. I then went over to the counter top by the front window to wait and watch the donuts being made. You really need a customer service training and the young man that was working last night needs to sit in the front row. Each time he finished an order, he would yell the number and not once did he respond when customers would thank him. A couple next to me each ordered single donuts and they were served in small plastic bowls. He literally flung one and it almost landed on the floor. When my order was ready, I thanked him and asked if a manager was available to speak to me about a large order. He just said NO and walked away. All the customers were exchanging looks about the way he was acting. I will not be back.

The donuts are yummy, but I've waiting over an hour to get through the line and receive my order TWICE now- that's crazy! Please hire more people to get those wait times down! Especially on high traffic days.

This place is great-but the service is a little slow...and I wish they stayed open until 9. Would make the perfect post-dinner snack and could compete with some ice cream shops in the area if they stayed open until 9 every night!
