Phenomenal service, great layout, and amazing bites. Service here was inviting, we were served by Hannah and she was full of smiles, great recommendations, and personality. The layout is almost perfect as the restaurant seating reminds me of a "Goldilocks" just-right feeling with spacing (Keeping in mind the winter weather doesn't allow for some of their best outdoor seating to be accessible). Preparation matters here, the dishes are well balanced in flavor profile and they also give great portion sizes -you will not leave hungry. . They had me hooked with perfectly poached eggs. Cafe 44 is a must visit especially now during the winter...I get the feeling the summer time crowd will be extensive reservations will be a necessary.

Great service and great food! My husband and I visited on a Saturday morning for brunch and got a chance to sample the prix fixe menu as well as a breakfast item from the main menu. The biscuits and sausage gravy are amazing! The shrimp and grits were also delicious. They have so much outdoor seating with a great view of the Potomac. Highly recommend.

Tried the prix-fixe menus both times. The shrimp and grits are really decent. Bottomless mimosas are solid. The bread pudding French toasts were good but really sweet. The waiter could’ve been more attentive the second time around.
The ambiance is cute and has a couple of places to take some nice pics.

Great atmosphere, food and view. Enjoyed lunch with our son while visiting him and his beautiful family. Husband had meatballs and beer, son had grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I had lobster bisque and Caesar Salad. Also ordered the crab dip appetizer! Drinks were very good and our server was excellent and very attentive. I'd rate it three stars price wise, not the two indicated. I'd say it was well worth the visit for lunch.

Finding the actual location was an interesting time but the scenery was absolutely beautiful from the 4th floor! The service left much to be desired. Maybe our waitress was overwhelmed? The Southern Biscuit was delicious but is best enjoyed with utensils. Didn't have a knife to spread the jam but the butter was soft and dip-able. Enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits (pictured) but waited at least 30 minutes for my second bellini. Bottle service was nice!
The taste of the food was enough to convince me to give the brunch another try but hopefully we'll have a different server.

Amazing experience! Service was so pleasant, helpful, and friendly. The food was delicious and definitely a great brunch spot. Cocktails were unique and they had a great variety to choose from. I would coke back here anytime.

Didn’t know if this place and was walking by the waterfront and spotted it. Made a reservation and love how hidden this gem is. The service was amazing and the food was so very tasty! Treat yourself ❤️

Decent food. Excellent ambiance. Waffles, eggs and chicken sausage were on the menu for me. Not bad. The view from the terrace was AWESOME. And They have outdoor heaters if its a little chilly. The cocktails are yummy.
