Food was good. The service was so-so... they were apparently out of regular chicken (as opposed to the spicy) but didn't say anything until I was waiting for almost ten minutes for the order. When I went back to the counter to see if maybe I missed them calling out my order number, then they tell me it'll be another 5 minutes or more until the regular was ready and did I want to get the spicy instead 🤔. So naturally not having a lot of time for lunch settled for the spicy. They could've informed me of that right off the bat and I would've had much faster service.
Note: At lunchtime keep both kinds ready. The fact that a full cook time was necessary tells me someone wasn't paying attention to having one of the two most popular items on the menu ready!
First time trying the chicken nuggets and let me tell you they were fantastic!! Cooked to perfection and the taste is mouth watering. Mac n cheese were fresh and taste is like no other.

Popeyes is delicious! Friendly customer service and a delicious menu with lots of options! What's not to love!
I've tried several Popeyes in different states including Louisiana. This New Mexico location wins my heart because good food is even better with wonderful customer service with smiling faces! Top that off with a lemonade and everyone is smiling!!
I ordered the chicken strips and shrimp spicy. I received regular chicken strips. I think I also got the bottom of the bag of shrimp. It was mostly crumbs and very little shrimp. I liked the biscuits and mashed potatoes. The extra chicken breast was spicy and perfect.
The spicy chicken was so flavorful and crispy. We love the spicy mashed potatoes. I use it like a thick butter and put it on the biscuit. Enjoyed our lunch very much. The manager who helped us was courteous and kept the dining room neat and tidy.
First you have to remember that good food isn’t super fast food. If you want your food to taste good it’s going to take a little longer.
I have been to Popeyes in England, TX, MS, CO and LA and this by far is the best one. I figured that the one in the heart of LA would be better because that’s where it originated from but they don’t come close to this location. Every time I go to ABQ we have to get something before we go back home and it just melts in your mouth. Soooo good!

I was thoroughly pleased by my visit to Popeye's. I recommend the Red Bean & Rice. It had been over 10 years since I have visited. I will be back soon.
The food as always is very good. And the staff is usually very friendly. But, the main issue that I continue to notice is that they don’t always get the orders prepared correctly.
Advice: Get there early. Their hours say the lobby is open until 7, but they closed it early. I placed an online order (because I know their drive thru is very slow) and arrived at the store at 645, but an employee outside said the lobby is closed. So, he directed me to the drive thru where I had to wait THIRTY SIX MINUTES for an order I already placed well within their hours to avoid this exact situation. I know it's just fast food, but good customer service makes a huge difference and fast food is about convenience which this was not. Why did I go through the trouble of placing an online order if I had to go through the drive thru anyway??? It's just annoying. The only reason I didn't give less stars was because the kids working were really sweet.
I was impressed by the delicious food, especially the cajun gravy and the chicken sandwich, and the cheerfulness of the staff who were working great under pressure.
