Hands down best casual Chinese food I have had in the US. aImpeccable service, fresh ingredients, decent portions and great pricing. The picture is just the fortune cookie, but that should explain the rest.

Great place for classic American-style Chinese food. Went for lunch and was met by very nice employees. The place is a bit sparse in decoration, but exceptionally clean! I ordered the sweet & sour chicken lunch combo, and was served a delicious, fresh tasting meal with fried rice, egg roll and soup. The entire meal, with tax, was under $9! I've tried a number of Chinese restaurants around this area, and Rising Star is by far the best!

I ordered the cashew chicken lunch combination plate, and a Dr. Pepper. This came with wonton soup, fried rice, and an egg roll. The pork wonton soup was perfectly seasoned. It was amazing! The cashew chicken with veggies was also perfectly seasoned. The egg roll was good. The vegetables were also amazing. I even ate the onions in the dish. I do NOT like onions! The fried rice did not have any vegetables mixed in it. It had very small specs of egg that I could barely see, and I could not taste. The fried rice was also kind of dry. I had to pour the sweet and sour sauce on my rice. The sweet and sour sauce tasted okay, but it was not sweet, or sour. The Dr. Pepper tasted funny. It made me wonder if it was Dr. Pepper, or maybe Dr. K. The service was great when they came around. The waiter was very nice and personable, but he did not come around very often. I was told this was the higher rated Chinese restaurant in ABQ. I expected a little more for the higher rated Chinese restaurant in ABQ. I will ear here again, but if the rice is dry next time, it may be the list time I show up.

This place is awesome. I absolutely love the food and the owners and employees are always very very kind. I would definitely recommend this place to others and I have done that before. I've also taken out of town guest here. Great job

First time dining at the Rising Star. Overall very pleased with our experience. Staff was friendly and attentive. They happily accommodated my request for no sweet and sour sauce on the sweet and sour chicken. Egg drop soup and hot sour soups were tasty. We ordered almond chicken and orange chicken. Both came with fried shrimp. We also ordered Kung Pao chicken that came with sweet and sour chicken (minus the sauce). The dishes were good, we ate every last bite. Would have liked a little more heat in the spicy dishes though. The orange chicken didn't have the sweet/tang we generally expected, but was still very good. The pot stickers were delicious. The prices were very reasonable with good portion sizes. We will definitely eat there again

This place is so good! One thing I love; They give you big and juicy shrimp and don’t up charge for seafood. The portions are really generous and the flavors are sometimes unique, sometimes familiar, and always satisfying. They have a lot of different, yummy noodle dishes. I love the bang for your buck you get with the dinner for two. Also, the staff are super friendly. It’s a great place with great food.
